Update: service took 8 days including waiting for parts and doing the work. Got car back last Friday and noticed the right-side steering wheel controls were not working while driving home. Took back yesterday and they ordered a part and scheduled another appointment for next week. Not sure if the wiring harness issue or repair work contributed, the service guy said no, but it was working fine prior to the service.

Also noticed the TCU battery was showing 0% when I picked up the car. After driving several times it is now showing 20%. This is a little slower charging than I expected, but I'll keep and eye on it. Might not be driving it a lot over the next couple of weeks and it is cold here. Might take a while to be back to 90%.

Glad to have the kitty back. Just a tad more fun to drive than our 2012 Mazda CX-9 "dog car" I was driving while waiting for the service to be complete!

Copy of service done is attached for those interested.

People on the UK forum that had the TCU battery go to 0% while in the shop reported that it takes several days and driving to get back to the usual 90%. It may just be a function of time. The TCU gets a constant 12V from the startup battery and should recharge the internal TCU battery from it. They probably had the startup battery disconnected for most of the time that it was in the shop. This would deplete the TCU battery.

Great to hear you got it back relatively quickly. Sounds like the parts issues is resolving slowly. I may have to switch to Willow Grove.
Regarding the TCU battery mine was also at 0% when I picked up the car, and it seemed to recover over a week or so of daily driving.

After almost 4 trouble-free years and 25K miles, I finally got my first real problem. I started getting the Gearbox Fault message a few days ago intermittently and now I'm getting the loud ratcheting sound also. I'm sure it's only a matter of time before I get a continuous fault. I made an appointment with the dealer for next week and we'll see how it goes. At least this is a well-defined problem, and I hope my dealer has seen it before.

Jaguar filed information about this with the NHTSA. https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2019/MC-10169910-0001.pdf
I took a remote camera today and searched and found the Parking Pawl electrical connector on my car. Nothing wrong with it, but I was interested in where it actually is. My pictures were taken from the top looking down, versus the pdf info found by Ayepace, which has the pictures taken from the bottom. I searched for about 10 minutes, before I found it in my car. Lots of stuff in the way to get to it. I went down through a square hole in the cowl, that is next to the coolant reservoir (that Ayepace showed me last week), in front of the driver.

make sure to file a complaint as I have been dead in middle of the road just stopped and very close to getting rear ended in each occurrence. File complaint this needs to be a recalled item as its safety: Report a Safety Problem | NHTSA

I have read this with great interest; my 2019 MY got the same problem the other day. When I parked the P started flashing, so did the D and R and it was impossible to get it in gear and move it.
By accident I discovered that by leaving it in R, stopping he engine, open the door - which promt a message that it cannot be turned off in R - close the door again and starting up again - still in R - the R goes steady and it can be reversed, AND put into D and being driven forward. This has worked a few times in a row now. So now I plan to limp off to the dealer ...
