I've had all of the issues above PLUS my screens went dead on me! Two times in my first week of ownership! They replaced three modules and it still happening. If it continues then they have said they will replace the entire system. I don't even have 300 miles yet on the car! :-(

Here's a technique to reset the Guess-o-Meter:

Unless you like living in a dream world, I'm not sure why you would want to do this. It's not like it buys you any more actual miles per charge. After almost a month of regular driving and some fairly cold temperatures (for South Carolina, freezing is "fairly cold"), our car registers 211 miles on a full charge, and it's proven to be about 99% accurate in the last couple weeks of extended travel.

Should you decide to sell your car in the future, or show it off, it's a nice slight of hand. Like air freshener, turning the radio up, filling in scratches quickly with crayon, and showing the car at night.

Yes, I'm sure that at the Art of Performance event thay must have played this trick since obviously everyone was beating the crap out of the cars with full acceleration and yet, when getting in the car, range was over 400 km..:grin2:

You guys should start a competition on how *low* the GOM can go when the battery shows 100% full >:)

Haven't had time to take it to the track yet, but I image tracking it for a day will probably slaughter the GOM.

Center Display

I took my IP to get mud flaps put on. The service tech performed the software update on the car. When I left the dealership, the center display nor console display was working at all. I tried locking and unlocking the car, but still not working. The technicians were gone for the day, so now I have to wait until Monday at the earliest. Service manager said it was the software update that caused the issue, but he has no one to look at it until Monday.

I picked up my Jaguar from the Chandler dealer and it was indeed frozen. They were able to reset it and it is currently working again. I think they need to have a reboot sequence just like Tesla. If it happens again, I will see if I can escalate the issue. I am just happy I can listen to music and use the navigation system and use the hands free phone features.

Looking at Europe where the iCat has been on the road for longer with more people, it seems pretty clear that the software issues are consistently really serious. Jag-you-are clearly underestimated the complexity of this dimension of EVs. I do not have high hopes for OTA at this point, given that software updates performed by dealers don't even seem to work consistently. The fact that Tesla is a Silicon Valley company gave them a leg up in terms of anticipating these types of issues, and in having the local talent to make things work. This is going to be a huge learning curve for VW/Audi as well.

Here's the Video! (with some creepy pron background music)

Makes you glad you didn't get a Liberal Arts degree, eh?

It's a matter of whether you believe the U should be pronounced as "oo" or "you". Americans are really saying Jag oo ar and slurring it slightly. Moving rapidly from an "oo" to "ar" makes an artificial "w" sound. Brits say: Jag You Ah (with an almost Bostonian disregard for the trailing "r").

Yeah, Brits be crazy. Do they mispronounce these words:

guar - gyewer?
quark - cyewerk?
quarrel - cyewerel?
quarantine - qyewerantine?

So why do they say Jagyewer instead of the obviously correct Jagwahr? Apparently even the Germans come closer!

My two center screens where disabled this morning as well - it also seems that the remote access went at same time.

Back to the dealership tomorrow for my 2nd service visit. <100miles

1st trip to deal was to fix door handle cover that flew off when I unlocked car.

Thankfully all minor, and the service center is close to where I drive past every day.

Just wondering out loud...

How long is it going to take for Jaguar to send a big update?

You know, like Fuji camera, or Apple. We're all excited "The NEW update is coming, the NEW update is coming!!"

But this may be a bit of a cultural difference. Different thinking.

Supposedly there is an update coming this month.

Those of us who are computer engineers would really love it if some of these guys would let us have at the interfaces for non-critical things in the car. I've been developing software for 4 decades, and I'm still amazed at how many people writing the code never talk back to the people giving the specs and say "Thus would suck if you had to use it every day!" They always just go off and code EXACTLY what was asked for. (Never been my style.)

Two days later I still do not have the car back. Apparently headquarters are putting new software on it, and needed to write the patch before they deployed it. Seems very odd. Im hopeful I get it back today. When I do I will post the software versions..
