We are in La Canada - count us in. We need a destination. The i3 group has now done 12 runs up to Mt. Wilson since October 2015. Mt. Wilson is a good destination since there are plenty of fast charger near the bottom of the mountain The Cosmic Cafe will not be open at the top until April, but the picnic area is always open as long as the road isn't closed. It's a nice drive, and the views are great. Kind of central to both O.C. and Ventura. I will cross post this to the Forum. Question - are there enough of us to start a SoCal page? This way we won't make the members in the Netherlands jealous (except their meet up might have more people, making us jealous)

If we do Mount Wilson, these are the locations of DC Fast Chargers (CCS). I eliminated Level 2 chargers because of slowness.

This is my first post on the I-pace forum, I was FINALLY able to register.....it was almost easier to get accepted to an Ivy League then it was to finally get registered here!

I'm in Woodland Hills, very close to a few of the other members listed here. I've got a GREAT place for us to drive to which is surprisingly local and a great drive. I'm all in! I used to be involved in a Ferrari group and a Hummer group. I gotta say, I never thought I'd love this I-pace as much as I do....it is beyond amazing!!!

Did this event already happen? I can see details about a meet-up but I didn't notice the date.....please do tell!

Thank you for exchanging emails with me and the warm welcome. I tried the link you gave me but it was it wasn't available at this time, I'll try again later. Just to be clear, the idea I had for a great drive would be for an April meet-up, I'm not trying or suggesting we change the Angeles Crest drive. I'm going to try to make it on the 9th, sounds great! It'd be nice to get a local group together for monthly drives and lunch!

First SoCal Meet-up and Mountain Adventure POSTPONED

The First SoCal Meet-up and Mountain Adventure has been postponed due to weather. Please go to the Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/groups/JagIPace/ and find the poll to select the date(s) you will be able to join us.

 

I was so bummed I couldn't make it due to out of state visitors. Now I see it has been rescheduled. Will take a look at that and see what transpires!! No lie though, coming from San Diego county, I had a pitter patter of range anxiety. I have only charged at home, so this will be a good experience! What, when, where are the other San Diego drivers planning on charging? Get there an hour early to charge, etc??

 

There are 5, 150KW EA charger down the street from the Freeway exit.

 

I will keep a watch for the reschedule. No FB for me.

 

Whew, glad I checked this thread.....event has been postponed! Btw, the Facebook link continues to not work. I'll look for a new rescheduled date.

I can also offer an alternative drive from the San Fernando Valley out to the Santa Clara River Valley, the drive will include some freeway, highway and a nice canyon drive. We'd then drive through some agricultural areas, perhaps stopping at a nursery before heading over to an avocado ranch where we could take a tour of the ranch, pick some avocados, meet some animals and have lunch. About 80 miles round trip. NOT trying to take-over the meet-up, just offering an easy and weather-safe alternative.
