H484 - anybody else got their new replacement battery limited to 80%

Well after failing to find a deal that worked out for me on the H484 update to later model year, I opted for the battery replacement. Took much less time to come in than I was expecting and after some initial teething trouble getting the car to accept some software for the BECM, I got the car back today and was very disappointed to find that my charge is now capped at 80% with a BRAND NEW battery.

This is not good - my "old" battery had a SoH of 96% after 24K miles and I could get 260 miles at 100% on my home L2 charger. I never did need to use the fast DC chargers out there.

I've called my dealer and let them know I am not amused. Anybody else with the replacement pack (not cells) able to do 100S% still ? Or have we all been tarred with the H519 brush now ?

@stuart.mcknight Did you had the 72% limitation while waiting for your new battery ? and how long did it took between the moment you said that you want to new battery and the moment when they installed the new battery ?
I am supposed to receive my new battery next week. I will tell you if I have a full 100%, but this 80% limitation seems to be a thing for US only, never heard of this in Canada.

As @Ayepace indicates, this is not supposed to have happened.

  • In the US, a small number of 2019s were subject to H484 recall (around 250 cars). One of the solutions offered was a new battery pack, which the OP selected.
  • The H514 recall was for all US 2019s that were not already subject to H484 (around 2500 cars).
It follows that if your H484 affected car has had a battery pack change, then it should not have the H514 software installed, thus limiting the charge to 80%. Since dealers are seeing around ten times more 2019s subject to H514, if they don’t check the outstanding recalls for each vehicle, it’s easy to see how this careless mistake is made.🙄
