We just need a better CCS infrastructure here ... which is coming. Patience is a virtue.
In Europe, yes. Here, not anytime soon. In UK all new light posts will have electric outlets for BEVs to charge and they have been appearing for a while now. And in mainland Europe there is money put into CCS fast charging infrastructure on all the primary roads.

Here I can’t find too many in NoVa and less as you go further and further south...

There are four existing models for expansion of charging infrastructure:

1. Open marketplace. This is the US model (with the two exceptions below). EVgo and Chargepoint etc have to compete and eventually make money.
2. Closed network, subsidized by the cash raised for a do-it-all company. This is the Tesla model.
3. Government subsidies for charging infrastructure. Europe; especially Norway.
4. Electrify America.

4. is interesting, but cannot be relied upon because it's not likely that another manufacturer will fukc up on such an epic scale again.
3. Seems like a no-brainer ... results in those countries speak for themselves.
2. Is not sustainable ... please post to the infamous Tesla in Trouble thread.
1. Yes, eventually. But why not jump-start it with 3.

Just looked at Norway. There are over 5:1 CCS stations to Tesla stations.
Doesn't look like you'd ever need to "plug in" at houses or hotels, or use destination chargers with a CCS car for his trip.

For some insight, type Bodo, Norway into Plugshare and toggle CCS to Tesla back and forth. This is what the author was referring to.
