I've only had our vehicle for a few weeks but the range listed at fuill chagre is only 218 MIles. The higheest we ever saw was 223 one time. I honestly feel like the 218 is the car being optimistic.
Depending on a) your driving style and speed, b) the weather, and c) your use of heating/cooling features you should see real range numbers from 180-240miles for a full charge.
Your range indicator calculates an expected range based on these historical factors spanning several months (weighted a little to most recent usage). Thus, driving in the Spring will still factor in the cold temps of winter for a few weeks. Similarly, highway driving at speed will be factored in even if you only intend to do local driving.
You will probably see the fully charged range slowly creep up now that warmer temps are here, so long as you avoid extended highway driving.
In almost 9months of ownership I have seen the fully charged range swing from 245 to 201 and now back to 230. Not much use for planning trips until you get used to the factors that influence your range.
Displayed GoM range has been 253 miles but using WattCat or the SoC ∆ divided into the miles travelled shows true range near 228. So happy with the warmer weather and H264. Range is up 10-15 miles over last year.
Feb - Apr GOM ranged from 209 - 229 miles KWH ranged from 81.45 - 81.85
Only charge in May GOM 241 miles and KWH 81.80
H264 update has not been done (not a fan of the green bar which is a by product of H264 update in my case)
Yesterday, mine showed a full charge range of 254 when I switched on ECO. Before that, 248. With the mileage I actually got on a 150 mile round-trip, I came home showing just 42 miles left. In other words, I would have been limping to try to make it to 200 miles. The trip did involve a lot of high-speed driving with most of it on the highway at over 80 miles/hour with the AC going (South Florida). Obviously with slower driving and more regen, the real range would have been much higher.
Typically see 234 mile range after a full charge...got the H264 update two months ago...no performance or reliability issues beyond the first release screen blanks which ended when software updates were completed. Living in N Texas - we've had a few hot days but summer isn't here yet. Before H264 I could get about 180 miles of range, now the realistic range is about 200-205. Love the vehicle.
A full 100% Charge, my guess-O-meter range will vary depending on the temperature of our garage where I park and charge my car. Post H264, the initial 100% charged range varies from about 230-265.
Long time lurker. I've had my First Edition since the fall of 2018, thought it was time to become active on the forum. 269 in eco, I think it was 264 in comfort but didn't snap a picture. Now that we are finally getting some warmer temps in northern New England I'm hoping to push it as close to 300 as I can get it. You'll notice in the picture I'm pushing 25k miles total, so the battery seems to be holding up nicely.
Hit over 5 mi/kWh on a short trip which would be over 400 mile range but that was mostly downhill, return trip gave me just over 3 mi/kWh, so average of 4 mi/kWh would get me over the 300 mark.
On a much longer drive averaged 3.53 mi/kWh which would get me around 290 miles.
I do drive pretty conservatively in Comfort mode as the grandkids are usually aboard. The range prediction is based on a number of factors including your driving habits, use of climate control, ambient temperature, city/highway driving. I don't think you're doing anything wrong and 218 miles isn't bad at all. After a software update my GoM showed 201 miles for a few weeks until the car readjusted to my driving. You might consider downloading WattCat which will tell you the battery kWh. Depending on your ambient temperature the battery should be over 80 kWh at 100% SoC. During the Colorado winter WattCat showed 78-79 kWh but with spring I am seeing 84.
I tried Eco mode for about 30 seconds but it's not for me. I didn't buy a Jag to drive like a grandma
After 2500 miles I'm showing 230-245 miles after a full charge. The lowest was 228. My commute is 30 miles each way and I've been averaging 30-40kwh/100 miles. Speeds have been higher than normal since there are so many people off the highway.
These are with the 22" rims as well, which are supposedly less efficient.
Over the last three charge/discharge cycles I've gotten ~240 miles of range:
Date Miles driven Percentage used Miles/percentage = range
Late April 137.4 56% 244
Early May 171.4 71% 242
Mid May 121.8 47% 261
Right now GoM says I have 117miles left, which is pretty accurate considering the Late April / Early May numbers.
Late April / Early May involved some freeway driving, Mid May has so far been only around town / country roads, so the difference in consumption is entirely explainable. I'm very happy with the numbers given that I drive semi-aggressively in Comfort mode, but conditions have been ideal as well with only occasional use of AC and battery temperature between 60 and 75F the vast majority of miles. Battery SoH by OBD port reading has been consistently at 97%.
Well my first full charge in a while shows 226 miles, but that is from only having driven the car mostly for highways and at speeds of 65-75 for past 100 miles.
My most recently full charge showed 86.2kwh, 100%, and 248 miles. It started from little over 7kwh, 9%, 22 miles. The level 2 charger showed 87kwh were added so it lost about 8kwh. Not sure if those numbers are correct but the miles seem to be close as after mixed driving of 208.8 miles it show there are 37 miles, 15%, and 11.9 kWh left.
On a parallel thread a couple of us have been discussing charging profiles. Are you using a "smart" charger? Could you post a screen shot of this charging profile?
Had a 97 mile round trip today starting at 100% and it stating I had a 273 mile range. When I got back home the dash listed 191 miles left at 70% battery. That would put me at a total of 288. But if you do the math out for 97 miles with 30% battery usage that would give me a total range of 323 miles.
Just got my i-pace a week ago, did a full charge, states 251 miles. I think i an running on older software. I have an appointment with the dealer on the 10th to have them update the software and look at an a/c issue.
