Okay, so here's my Question to All:

Have you noticed that at least 50%-75% of Tesla drivers who see you on the road in your new I-Pace want to race you?

How annoying, imho. It's like they want to play with you and/or see how fast the I-Pace really is in the real world. I've already had experiences with a few Tesla Model X and Model 3's...of course I beat them (none were the P100D, lol...I wouldn't even both with that, lol) but seriously, it's a bit annoying to me.

I get challenged ALL the time when driving my 700HP/TQ GT-R but that's expected and kind of what it's made for and yes, I win with that kind of power. But I'm sorry, my I-Pace is my DD work and family vehicle and I just enjoy going about my day using no gas and enjoying the vehicle without anyone challenging me to a friendly race. Besides, even IF the Tesla wins out in a straight line over my I-Pace, I always keep thinking to myself, "well at least my Jaguar I-Pace is very pleasing to the eye and much higher quality inside and outside than the Tesla which is ugly as FUk" imho!:grin2:

I'm constantly asked about the I-Pace and everyone tells me how beautiful it is but it's the Tesla Model X 75D and Model 3 drivers that are driving me nuts wanting to race, haha. Most of the Model S drivers are calm, except for the P100D guys and well, I know, that's why they opted for the high performance model...I get it...it's what I do with Porsche 911 Turbos, Ferraris, BMW M5's, and Lambos when in my GT-R, lol. ;) Well, not really...I don't really look for races. My racing days are mostly over.

Here's a tip for you. I do this a lot. Race them up to the speed limit and let them go. It's very effective for clearing speed traps ahead.

Since I rarely drive the speed limit anyway, I always appreciate someone who's willing to drive faster than I do, even if I have to goad them into it..
True, although that will take < 5sec. and as a backup, I always have my radar/laser detector on as well. ;)

Makes you wonder what's going to happen with street racing after 2020 when there is a huge transition to EV's and everyone has a sub 5 second 0-60 car. Heck even the new Rivian R1T electric pickup is rated in the 3.0's.

23109? in California, is Speed Contest, Exhibition of Speed. A night in jail, your car is towed, equal to a drunk driving offense in cost.
In my youth, I ended up with two of those, and never broke the speed limit.

Doesn't a Tesla have to go through some screen levels to get their best performance? So, they aren't necessarily ready to give it their best at the stop light. One button press, and we are ready to roll with all available power. But, I agree - I consider "the race" to be "to the speed limit".

I have thought of this often in my Model 3 Performance. The responsiveness of electric will have people banging into each other as the massive adoption acceleration equalizes to under 5 seconds from 8 right now. Autonomous safety will play a huge part! And yes Rivian at 3.0 seconds wth will happen after that . What will the benchmark be for performance cars?!
