Sorry for the confusing title -

Is there a way to stop the voice command from asking if you want to make changes when you use it for navigation? I turned off all the prompts I could find under the voice settings. But still, after it takes the address, it still says something like "You may say confirm or speak to make a change". I at least got rid of the prompt that asked if I wanted to get started - yes or no. In my X5 I could just manually override this and get moving quicker. Any way to do that on this car?

Thanks,

Typing is a huge pain for me - maybe because I'm a bit shorter ha

The JLR system is OK for changing the stereo. For driving directions, I use Siri from an i-Phone or I type.

I get frustrated when a user interface is hostile. I'm waiting for it to call me a bloody wanker.

To be honest, I do not use Voice To Text much in any of my cars, which started to pop up in 2004, my GMC truck had it.

In my BMW it was a life saver. Made entering directions super easy - remember on a BMW you use the idrive wheel to type.

On this car the typing is okay, I'm just a bit short so it's uncomfortable to sit there typing things in. Being able to just speak to the car and tell it where I want to go is the best situation.

It is probably usable with enough practice.

Mine is 1/2 way there. I can't tell my car where I want to go, but it certainly tells me where to go. >:)

I have Favorites stored for frequent customer and college sites. I need a command that accepts "Drive to favorite, UCSB" (note UCSB to me is a rental house near the campus, not the campus) or "favorite Edwards Jenner" or "favorite Edwards Alton" or "favorite Edwards Redhill". Closest I could come was using the Recent list, but it would not accept a pick from the recents: "Number 4" or it's reading the name doesn't work. I don't remember all the addresses, I have to look them up.

I've use the jaguar destination app to enter some and that worked for planning out a day of showings pretty decently.

Have you changed the language on yours to US English from UK? That helped a ton with the car understanding me. It's been about 90%+ good with taking a navigation request since then. I just hate that I can't just hit start and use the function right away - or even after all the screens start.

I finally decided to purchase a 100lb bag of bread crumbs so I can retrace my steps. Wait. Isn't that only for German cars? Hänsel und Gretel?

Seriously, thanks for the tip to switch language to American. I'll try that.
