My Jaguar does not have the option to change colors on the interior ambient lighting feature. Does anyone know if I can have the dealer install this option after taking delivery of my IPACE. The website says this is a $250 option and I am pretty sure this option is controlled by the computer and that every car already has the option built in and all it takes is an upgrade to the computer to activate.

Anyone else know if this is possible

I contacted the Encore Specialist at
Jaguar Land Rover and asked if ambient lighting could be added. I didn’t check the box when configuring my build and now regret it. The response was “the configurable is a factory installation.” ?

I have a hard time understanding why anyone wants or needs this feature. I have it on two vehicles and only because it was on the car bought from dealer stock.

It's only visible at night. My concentration is on driving not admiring the different colors of ambient lighting possible.

It's one of those "set it, ignore it, and forget it" features.

Similar comment for the lighted sill plates.

Agreed. That is one feature on my FE that I turned off months ago and I haven't revisited.

I agree. My car had it and the kids liked to play with it, but it served no real purpose to me. I would have liked it better if it changed all the interior lighting.

I like it for the most part. It irks me a bit that it can only be red while in dynamic mode.
I'd check - maybe an update fixed that, as I had it red in comfort mode over Christmas. I'll double check that this evening to be sure.

I think he meant that when in dynamic mode it can only be red (which I've observed), not that it can only be red in dynamic mode.

Correct. I like the responsiveness of dynamic mode but dislike it always being red in that mode (most bothersome at night).

I am very confused by this sentence. But that is what I was saying, it is ONLY red when you switch to dynamic mode, and I also would have preferred being able to set the color in dynamic mode.

I had my Ambient lighting set to red for December (my son chose it). It stayed red in Comfort, Eco and Dynamic. Cabin ambient lighting is independent of drive mode, as it seems several people confirmed.

I had the Ambient lighting in my last JLR product (2014 Range Rover Supercharged big body). Like in the I-Pace it is gimmicky and more fun for kids!

I think after I had it red for Christmas, I put it to either white or light blue and will just leave it. For the money, I would SO much rather of had the heated $250 steering wheel. That should be on every I-Pace standard!!!

Being honest, my son chose red for December, and this is why I did not notice a change when I tried Dynamic. I have tried Dynamic 2x and I am more than happy with Comfort or Eco :)

I believe everyone that Ambient lighting is red when in Dynamic mode. In a way that's kind of cool that JLR engineers even thought of that. The red adds to the "excitement and danger" of Dynamic mode ;)
