According to the Tesla web site, only Superchargers with a Magic Dock (part of the charger at the location) are compatible with the I-Pace. A Supercharger with a NACS plug will not allow an adapter to charge the I-Pace.

 

I called JLR and Lectron was the recommended adapter.

. I could not get a model number from JLR and bought the wrong one, which I returned. Lectron said their model Lectron Tesla to J1772 EV Adapter /250 / 48 Amp is compatible with Jaguar IPace. It is compatible with Tesla High Powered Wall connectors, all generations of destination chargers and mobile connectors. However - NOTE that this adapter will not work with Tesla Superchargers. I have never looked at the Tesla chargers - are some labeled "Superchargers." I-Pace owner's manual, pg. 23, says "make sure the AC charging cable meets standard SAE J1772. But, there is more to know than just that!

 

If you're instead looking for a J-1772 cable, i.e., something that lets you charge at home, then you might check out the TeslaTap web site, though there are others offering similar cable adapters.

 

For CCS coming soon at this point is probably more like coming never....

For J1772 I use a low cost adapter from Amazon for over a year now. $25 shipped. May not work on restricted destination charging.

 

And JLR stated they would send an adapter to all owners.

 

I don't think that is going to happen. They were promised a year and a half ago, but my dealership said JLR has not released any and they are not expected in the future.

 

After doing my own research (including seeing the above discouraging content online), I decided to take a chance and order two adapters for Level 2 (Tesla Destination Chargers) and Level 3 (Tesla Superchargers). They worked:

Level 2:

What year Ipace and software lineup do you have?

 

I failed charger bells corner Ottawa but have successfully charged at kemptville. Typhoon pro.

 

This makes me wonder if it's a ipace problem, a Tesla issue or a specific problem with my car. Other cars charged at the chargers that failed for me.

 

See my post on the other thread. Some A2Z adapters have a communication pin that is too short.

 

As an alternative to Tesla chargers, I used the Rivian Adventure Network (RAN) and it was outstanding: easy access to non-Rivian vehicle (2022 IPACE), simple tap with credit card (no app or ‘membership’ needed) and very Fast-charging. Highly recommend this as effective and more convenient alternative to Tesla chargers.
