So I actual don't think the dealers know what they're talking about with these cars - just not enough experience with them.
Yeah, the number of falsehoods I have heard (e.g., SOTA only works over WiFi), uttered with total conviction, is staggering. It's like they have a fake news network where they exchange information not on the basis of facts but on hearsay.

Update: I just checked WattCat, and Woohoo, the dealer installed 19.2 and a new TCU config version as well. This is after a JLR (corporate) service rep declined to authorize the work and told me to "go to another dealer if they can't solve the issue for you", which is the weirdest advice I can think of given that they (corporate) declined to help me in the same email.

The car is still at the dealer so I can't yet check what the center console says. I wonder what they will tell me about it, but so far it seems the fault is with corporate, who won't pay the dealer for work unless there's a traditional fault code that you can read via OBD.

It only took two weeks, in a Disco loaner haha

Edit: Picked up the kitty today, service writeup states that they had it cleared by the "JLR EV specialist". Didn't know there was a guy with such broad powers 👏

I had no versions for TCU and battery since purchase and multiple dealer updates. This trip I asked them to check and try again and now, voila, I have both! So if you don’t see any info keep trying with dealer.
