Still under warranty? I found out they don't service steering columns, they swap them out as an assembly. I think ~$4k was the approximate price for a new steering rack. I'lll let you know when I get the bill for mine (it was replaced a month or two ago, bit they then decided to replace the front motor as well and that arrives tomorrow).

 

Nope, no warranty. The car is 5 years old and 60.000km. Was in an accident almost new, but the problem appeared at about 50.000km and progressing.

 

I had a similar clunk sound and they decided to replace the steering rack. You might be lucky and it might just be a loose bushing. 🤞

no outcome yet. Trying to tighten the bolt on the steering rake didn't help. Was diagnosed the problem in the steering rake itself and it needs to be dismantled and refurbished. But it is to be done for now.

I know have the same creaking/knocking from the steering column.
I have a 2019 ipace but luckily still have a JLR warranty, so trying to get booked in now.

My dealer said the steering rack was not a fixable part but that the whole assembly was a swap out (-$3000 for the part out of warranty).

 

Update. The steering rake seems to be the case. It was dismantled ($100) and was refurbished by a local specialist ($200). The price for the work is actual for Ukraine. No more clunking so far.
