I found 2 difference First Editions at 2 different dealers. Both are Corris Grey, both have the 22" carbon fiber wheels.

The difference is that one has Sport Seats, and one has Performance Seats.

I've driven an I-Pace with Sport Seats extensively. I have only sat in a car with Performance seats for a few minutes and that was without power as the car had only just come in at the time.

Which would you buy??

Thanks,

The standard FE seats are excellent and hug the body tightly. Many prefer the upgrade. Your seat time should tell you.

Its a hard choice because I can't sit in the performance seat since there aren't any cars with them locally.

I sat in similar performance seats in another jaguar and much preferred the performance ones to sport seats. The spirt states “leaned” a little forward at shoulders which I did not like. I am 5’10” and wide shoulders and performance seats fit better. But if you actually got to sit in both you should be able to tell which fit you better?

Just for me:
Track use will not be frequent. I'm used to driving cars with factory seats in high g-corners anyway.
Deep buckets can make a car harder to sell, especially non-track models. Some people don't like them due to more difficult ingress and egress.
FE base seats are "18-Way" and Performance are "14-Way" so are likely to be more adjustable. Important for those who have injuries (like me).
If I want a track seat, I can probably do the driver for $2400 and make it removable. Got to change tires and check pads anyways.

Sidebar - I have an injury that makes it difficult to drive most cars more than an hour without serious pain levels. The Jaguar FE base seat when adjusted passed the 4 hr test.

Performance seats are awesome! I like the standard Sports Seats but they seem a bit bulky to me. Not sure where the extra 4 ways of adjust-ability comes from with the standard sports seats other than the adjustable headrests and possibly the leg extension; the Performance Seats have more than enough adjustable options for anyone. The Performance Seats are on par with my previous Porsche Macan Turbo seats in terms of comfort, quality, and performance.

I had the same dilemma
I went with the standard sports seats. Saved a little, although when buying cars this expensive, not a big reason but still...

I am very comfortable in the sport seats and didn’t feel the performance seats were better.

I really wanted to use the Jaguar Click-n-go system. For my lifestyle this was useful and convenient. The Performance seats do NOT allow the use of this system. So that made the decision for me

After driving my I-Pace for 1900mi, I just today got a loaner while mine gets a couple things done including painting that ugly unfinished plastic area behind the license plate. The loaner is another FE and only difference (other than color) is it has the performance seats. I was fine with my sport seat decision, son not having any 'seat envy' here, but this loaner should give me a very fair comparison as I'll have it for several days. I didn't really notice a BIG difference right away, in fact I was running late and focused my attention (as I was driving off the lot) on changing regen, creep, silly 'engine' noise, dash layout, etc. I thought the seats felt a little 'stiffer' but only because it was a 'newer' car than mine (now 8 weeks old)... only when I got back in later today did I even notice the "hole" in the middle that signaled the performance seats. I'll really play with them this week, then once I get mine back will deliver an "owner's review" (most reviews are based on a quick test drive).

All that said, my first impression of them is... "meh".

That's good to hear. I'm still having a bit of FOMO for the performance seat I didn't get!

I have now been driving with my sport seats and honestly I think it all has to do with each individual shape. When I test drove the sport ones I did not hate them, they were quite nice. But for my shape they pushed me “forward” at my shoulders and that was not comfortable. No matter how much I adjusted them it didn’t help.

The Performance seats look better in my opinion (thinner and more sleek) but more importantly for me they fit much better and I sit properly. So it may really make no comfort difference for others, or in fact the stiffness or more pronounced support bolsters may even be uncomfortable (they are right on the edge for me, if I was any wider it would be a deal breaker). I personally don’t think one is “better” just what fits.

So ideally I’d say anyone considering it try to test them. If you can’t find the I Pace with Performance seat hop in any of the other Jaguars that have equivalent, it is fairly close in feel.

I opted for the sport seats on my FE, because I wanted a slightly wider pass through clearance in between the 2 front seats. IMHO the performance seats do look much better. Depending on your upper body size, you may find the shoulder height side bolsters a bit constricting. I believe the performance seats are similar across the Jag line, so you can test fit them by sitting in a Type F.
