Rear seat hvac control add on.

I’ve been doing some looking around for information about adding rear seat hvac controls to my HSE that only have rear heated seat controls. Has anyone tried to add it? I’ll ask the dealer, which I’m sure they will tell me no. Any input on it? I’m not all that impressed with the smart climate for the rear passengers. I’d like to have them be able to change temps as needed. I didn’t know it was even an option until I went through the owner’s manual.

Even if you gather the parts and install, you'll need a computer and dealer account to turn it all on. Easier to buy a new car.

No can do. There are no functional add-ons for the i-PACE. You won't find much other than trim components, seat accessories, mats, racks, and the like.
One annoying thing about the I pace is that all the fans only have one speed. Meaning rear passengers get the same airflow (fan hi or low) that everyone else does. But they gain the ability to set their own temp with four zone climate control. Not sure how useful four zone is without a different fan.
You guys shouldn’t be saying no unless you’ve checked the parts diagrams to see if the harnesses are different between the two options. For instance while I haven’t taken mine apart to confirm, the rear harnesses suggest that the connectors for gesture loft gate are there even if you do t have the option. You’d have to add sensors and there’s always software to worry about but if some dude in Europe can add a heated steering wheel, the possibility exists this can be done too.
I’m sure it can be done if you are willing to get the parts and install them. I’m not sure if it would require a dealer visit.
It would be easier for us to advise if you post a pic of your setup.

however, if your current setup is what I think it is, and your intended setup is also what I think it is, I would suggest there will be a considerable amount of extra wiring needed given the complexity of the electronic systems. I think the car would have to be programmed as well so I doubt this is as simple as changing a few parts.

does this mean I cannot upgrade just my driver's seat from a "comfort" to a "performance" seat?
Based on a quick reading through the workshop manual...

It would absolutely require a lot of parts and a dealer visit, if at all possible. Four zone climate includes sensors in the air ducts for for temperatures (8 instead of 4), damper doors for channeling airflow (and controls for them), different control panel, control module and wiring harness. Some of those components are based on VIN to ensure they are variations that work together.

Then you get to the part of the control modules involved. It would require programming to integrate into the car since everything communicates with the BCM/GWM module. The ICPs have to be programmed/aware so that the displays/controls via them work properly. Programming a car via Pathfinder may not be possible since it is based on VIN and the car will not be known to have the feature. It may not be possible to enable it.

Wiring harnesses are not just copper wires anymore. There are fiber optic network connections between modules too.

I don't think the internet part sites show all the possible combinations of parts for the cars. It would require a lot of research with a dealer's parts department to determine what would be needed. You'd have to be good friends with an employee there who could spend after-hour time for this research. I doubt they'd be allowed to do this research during business hours unless they have really slow times over many days.

This is definitely something that should be built into the car. You'd be looking at 1000's of dollars for parts (labor extra).

Thank you for the input. That’s what I was wondering is the base hvac system have any hardware differences other than control module. I worked as a senior master ford tech for 20 years. I did this stuff all the time but I had access to all the information. I cloned modules and changed code to add features. OEM did not support it but I enjoyed it. This is much different especially since I’m out of the car business.
Most 2 and 4 zone cars have one fan speed, but then you can usually close those vents at an individual position
