After a month and half with the car stuck at port I finally got the car. I think I was spoiled with the Tesla for its ease of use and programming.
I do have some questions and comments:
- Has anyone noticed that the car has trouble connecting to a wifi hotspot? I was able to make a connection once and ever since then it gives me a connection error. I tried a different hotspot and the same thing
- How do you see what software version you're running. I hear about v14.2 and v15.2 but where in the settings does it tell you the version? Version of the InControl system?
- Does this car support Homelink? I cant figure out how or where to program it.
- Aside from the Jaguar phone app is there anywhere to configure the start and end time for charging? I tried the app and it wouldn't save the time settings?
I'm sure I will have more questions on day 2 of owning this
Haven't had any issues connecting to Wifi, but I do have a mesh system with a node in the garage so very strong signal.
I came from a Tesla too and yes there is definitely a learning curve here, but for me I've come to like it a lot better. There are many more customizable options and things the Tesla just didn't offer.
Yes, it does support homelink and it programs the same as any of the homelink systems. And as I write that I can't quite remember the exact steps. ha Its in the owners manual though under homelink I believe. Something simple like tap the button you want to assign the open/close your garage as you hold down the button in the car underneath the rearview mirror. Not exact but something on those lines.
For software version, tap the setting cogwheel icon. Scroll to then select Software update. Scroll down and you will see the Telematics and Battery versions. They may default to blank, but tap the update button and then they will show you the versions. Mine seems to show a little different than others where my battery version shows 13.2 and Telematics is blank. Other owners I've talked to show the other way around so mine my be the exception. There is an update out, but my dealer wanted me to wait until the new version was released, believe the 15.2, because 14.2 has some bugs were some experience blank screens at times.
I don't use the start and end time for charging and didn't really use with the Tesla either so I'm not much help there. I know with the Tesla I started scheduling for night time charging, but quickly learned I was paying way more for electricity only charging at night when I could charge during the day for free with my solar; well at least when the sun is around.
