I will have the first IPace from the newest Jag dealer in South Atlanta. In final days to make changes so I figured I'd join now, read the comments and make changes accordingly. Pre-paid for a HSE ( I wanted white and performance seats not available in First Edition) 22" wheel with carbon fiber inserts loaded ( with all the fixins). Your comments have been a great help. Im looking at ordering the JuiceBox 70 for fast charging at home. Any suggestions are welcomed

Do remember that the IPace only takes 7.4 kW (1-phase) at 32 A with the onboard AC charger. The Juicebox 70 can obviously handle 22kw / 3phase, do mention this during the installation of the box, assuming you arent doing it yourself.

Here in the US the car only comes with a 110V cable. I call it a trickle charger. It's still useful but it's far far short of the 7.2kW that you can get with a 240V/30 amp circuit/cable.

Not sure I understand what you mean, with a juicebox / chargepoint charger you can surely reach the 7.2kw limit of the onboard charger. The EVSE that is shipped along with US models is of course limited to 110V.

The 110 cable can handle 75 Amp right? 32-40 amp is common, but haven a 75 is no different then puling up to a 100 amp public charger?? Or am I missing something

You should be fine with that JuiceBox, not sure what sciencegeek is referring to but im sure he will get back soon. My point was to not waste money on getting a 3phase setup into your juicebox, it will just be blocked by the 7.2kwh onboard charger of the IPace. It will of course still work with 3 phase but your IPace onboard charger is the bottleneck.

Juice box 40 pro

The Juice box 70 is a waste of money unless they someday retrofit our cars onboard chargers. I'm not holding my breath for that, it's a hardware and not a software issue. I have a Juicebox 40 pro. I had to put a new wi-fi node system on the house so the wifi signal would extend into the garage, and now it does. The Juicebox 40 pro I got at Costco online, and had an electrician friend install with a Nema plug, a subpanel and a 50amp breaker, so I didn't have to buy the hardwired version, and I could take it with me when I move. I got a rate plan from SDG&E that charges only 8 cents a kilowatt hour from 12.00 midnight to 6 am and also on the weekends. I setup the time of charge in the juicebox phone app after I plug in, and Voila! Cheap electricity all night long. I can go from 50% charge to 100% charge in those 6 hours most nights, that's if I need to go to 100%. Most of the time I go 3-4 days of local driving without recharging. Love my I Pace esp, the handling, Acceleration, and Jaguar sportiness of the car. The laggy non intuitive Info system -not so much.
BMW's new system is easy to use, JLR should co-develop something with them. I will say the I Pace system is about the same as MB's system with the added advantage of touch in the I Pace. Electro

Thanks! I am buying the Juice box for GPower, they are on sell till the end of the month $579 and GA power gives you a $200 install rebate. This saved me about 300 bucks plus hard wire install if I cant get a benefit from it.

that's one thing I never liked about Tesla's, they're fun in a straight line but they don't have the character of a Jaguar

Juicebox 70 is fine in that I believe it provides 56 amps from a 70 amp circuit.

At home I-Pace will charge at full speed with a 32 amp evse on a 40 amp dedicated circuit. So if you are pulling wire the 40 amp might be lower cost. If you have a limited main panel such as 100 amp main then the 40 amp might be all code allows. Still going to charge at full speed. Installing larger than needed does not help the current I-Pace. Maybe the next version or your buddy with a Tesla.

The included 110 (120v) cable is good for 10 amps or about 2 miles per hour charging. This is very slow.

A 100 amp public charger is probably a Level 3 DC charger and VERY different and very fast (10x) compared to any Level 2 home charging.

The level 2 comes with a charging cable to handle the charge. If I got Level 2 40 amp, I probably wont need the cable with the IPace.

Any comments on the 22" wheels??

I have the 22" wheels. I had to get creative with tires that could handle snow - but you live in Georgia so that shouldn't be an issue.

I will say they do ride a bit stiffer than the 20" wheel option and if I was doing it all over, I might have just ordered the car with the black 20" option. Don't get me wrong, I love the look of the 22" CF wheels, but the lack of comfort and tire options sort of negates it..

Yeah just an alternative view. I like 18" for the nicer ride and supposedly/anecdotally better fuel economy

The performance seats are totally awesome. I actually changed my order from the sport seats to the performance seats after the test drive and couldn't be happier. The headrest of the sport seats pushed my head forward too much and I'm not a big fan of the looks. So I spent the extra $$

So glad to hear that, that is why I made the same decision, the sport seats just didn't "fit" me and that was one of the things. Thanks for the review!

Do performance seats have thigh rests that extend?

They do not. They have all the other adjustments, but not the "extend the seat bottom" functionality.

For me, that's a big deal. Glad I went with the sport seats.

I was torn on the seats as well. In the end, I went with the Sport seats because A. I couldn't find a car to test with the Performance seats, and B I was worried about the narrower Performance seats and larger clients sitting in my car.

I do love the look of those Performance seats though..
