Lucid offers solid leases if you have a competing ICE vehicle. Competing EV? No dice. No Lucid. **** those guys. What the **** are they thinking? Ah well. Maybe the Saudis are like, "Thank you very much for buying gas."

I had to bid adieu to my awesome, irreproachable, faultless and lovely triple world-crown 2019 I-Pace FE. Always has been a pleasure to drive, always brought a smile when looked at. I feel bad for all the ones that ran into issues and lucky that mine behaved so well. Rebuy process was painless and very (VERY) fair(I am in California, thanks for anyone who paved the way in this state ). Moving on to Lucid most likely, and maybe back in a few years, if Jaguar comes back to their senses and graces us with a ‘I-Pace 2’.

Test drove the Chevy equinox fwd. Underpowered. AWD is probably acceptable. A bit floaty but comfy suspension. Great efficiency. Shitty dealer salesperson who insulted my wife and lied about the car.

Test drove the Honda Prologue 2wd. Stiffer ride than expected. Slow acceleration. Need AWD. Kind of meh. Saleseperson who didn't know shit about the car. Sorry, no 1 pedal mode? Motherfucker? You don't want me to go through settings? At least the Chevy guy knew how the car worked.

Both gave overpriced quotes, though the equinox quote was closer to a real quote than the honda quote.

I fucking hate dealerships.

Tried to look at a Taycan, but the 911 douches were having a car meet and had taken all the parking spots. So we won't be buying a Taycan nor leasing a Macan. And they're majorly fugly, so no big loss.

Right now, the EQB is the best by a country mile. Best sales experience. Best car to drive.

2022 I-Paces are asking 38-40k from dealers. That's way too much for this 4 year old car, considering depreciation for actual owners and what they sell for new. At 30k, I might take a 1 owner 2022 I-Pace with low enough miles and some warranty left.

And... the 2019 Photon FE is gone. Ordered 6/5/18. Picked up 12/26/18, with 25 miles. Returned 6/18/2025, with 59,621 miles. I don't think we've ever been nearly this sad about seeing a car go.

I'm sorry for your loss. You gonna replace it with an EQB?
At least we got a big check. Quite probably getting an EQB in August. We'll see how the market is by then. Right now, I'm hoping my daughter can learn stick so she doesn't drive my i4 all summer.

Looks like you kept the car really well. Get another newer version
If it's not Photon Red...

Prices really have been rising on used I-Paces. The pickings are slim, and the wife wants a smaller car that's easier to maneuver.

We're in a weird position where we need four cars for a year. Then we might need only two cars after that, as the kids go off to grad school and college. The grad school kid might take a car with her.

And to think I sold the Model Y less than a year ago, not knowing about this FXGING buyback.

Oops. Just realized I didn't include the wheel nut key when I returned the car with aftermarket wheels.

SEP.

The Maverick Hybrid AWD looks kind of fun. Would be helpful when the kids move, which they'll be doing often over the next few years.

In negotiations now. 2019 with mandatory recall. First offer was 30k then ghosted. Got AG's office involved and now in the 40s. Literally made last payment on it in February. Only 14k miles. Mint condition. Only issue is they restricted my battery. Found a new one for 47k. AG said if I held out they could get most of my money back. I'd be OK with an even swap or close to it. I think Im there. Going to miss the color though.

I've had this since covid. Shipped from Pasadena California to the east coast. Something about the photon red. Sure going to miss it when its gone. Thought about just keeping it, even with the battery restrictions. But its really not smart if it actually goes out. Was offered 30k first, then ghosted. Got AG's office involved and now in the 40s. Found a new replacement for 47k. Not a fan of the white interior. But I guess I can live with it. Really going to miss all the attention the photon red gets. Jaguar really lost my respect during this entire process. I've been a loyal customer of jlr and they could care less. Had a first edition defender and now a carpathian edition. If this buyback goes south I'll be done with that company.

We're heading over in a bit to lease a Volvo EX30 in yellow. Then we'll buy it out in a couple months.

My wife got the Volvo EX90 and loves it. Supple ride with air suspension. Quiet interior. Not as engaging to drive as the I-Pace, but it’s a different class. We have also seen more EX30 on the road.

Costco has a running deal for Volvo EVs. Check it out.
Lease to immediate buy-out is what we did to take advantage of the EV credit loophole. We paid off the car once Volvo Financial Services posted the lease balance. Dealership tell you to wait 3 months to buy-out, but you can do it sooner to save on interest.

GL!

We will wait three payments because otherwise Volvo takes a chunk out of the dealer's pay after a month. We got costco, conquest, and teacher discounts. It's basically the Rivian R3 made more cheaply and available today. They even have a lifted version coming out next year.

Reasonably comfy ride. Accelerates like **** on wheels. Spartan, pleasant interior, like if Tesla hired real designers. Google interface means no need to look at my phone for directions. Small. 4034 lbs is on the light end for EVs. Nimble. Tiny.

Also yellow and in our garage.

I think that if this existed when I got my i4 M50, I'd have gotten this instead. It's just more playful. I like playful.
