I would be interested in what you finaly decide, snowflake. I honestly don’t see anything out there that gives me the thrill of the iPACE, and the frugal part of me doesnt want to she’ll put for a new car. I really still love the iPACE; just hate the issues it has had (for me both a battery and windshield).
second question, did you say anything to Morley to make sure you got the California lemon law valuation?
Does anyone who has been contacted by Morley know how long it takes. JLR verified my info a month ago, but Morley hasn’t reached out yet. I’m more than happy for them to take their sweet time, and indeed would prefer it if this dragged out through August, but I also don’t want to fall through the cracks.
Been sick. Haven't moved on anything. Did like what I read about the tiny, AWD Volvo EV. Good sale price. Poor lease price, though. Also, we have the ipace still, we have four cars still, and even though the kids are coming home this summer, the kids will be alone as wife and I will travel, so... don't need a car now. What will be up with all this tariff and EV law nonsense? No idea. Come August, we'll probably need a four car. However, my parents may buy one as a grad gift for my daughter, and getting them to learn stick has been a disaster for one of our four cars. Their brains are incapable of doing stick, it seems.
I just said that the offer is unacceptable. Then the Morley rep said she could try the California buyback stuff but she needed the back of the sales contract.
Should take about 5 weeks after you have sent copies of the documents they need. Buy another newer IPace as you like them so much. Have them change out the 12Volt battery if it’s more than a year old and preferably get a CPO car. Ours is good through 2029 With the balance of the factory warranty and then the CPO kicks in.
Morley rep said 3-4 weeks to me. 13 days ago.
I haven’t gotten to the “send documents they need” phase. Basically, mid-April I got a call from JLR asking to confirm my info and telling me to expect to be contacted about the buyback offer. That has not happened yet.
WRT newer iPACEs, when did the entertainment hardware get upgraded? Really, it‘s the only thing that bothers me about my existing car.
I would definitely get a CPO car or extended warranty. I like to keep my cars about 10 years, and I think I’d be sweating a major breakdown after the warranty expires.
2022 for the new infotainment, IIRC. I don't mind the old infotainment at all. One, maybe two, people have said that the 2022 and later also have better suspension and quieter motors. I've no idea if this is true. Anybody?
We planned on keeping the car. Then all this happened. Xcelerate was good to deal with. I would use them again. A newer I-Pace is an option, but I love the Photon Red, and I don't think the car looks nearly as striking in other colors. The Volvo EX30 comes in bright yellow. I haven't looked at one in person or driven one. Seems legit. Though it is a bit wide.
