Those that have managed to get a new traction battery, does the 514 recall still apply? Are you limited to 80% charge?

…but some got a new battery under H441, so it’s a good question!

Guess it didn’t matter, they turned down my request for a new battery. A CRC Manager did start a case when I told the my service manager that it wasn’t acceptable having only 80% range with H514 Recall. The service manger offered $18500 for my car and I politely as possible said I loved my car please replace the complete battery. He said that wasn’t being offered only the cash buy back. I called JLR NA, they said case had been closed. Guess the service manager told them I wasn’t interested in their offer. Weird that I was dealing with service manger when dealing with buyout?

According to Bloomberg, the price for a new battery in 2024 is less than 100$/Kwh, so less than 9000$ fora 90Kwh battery. So it should be cheaper for JLR to consider a battery swap than to bay back the entire car, no ?

My 2023 has had 3 detective cells/modules replaced. Is my battery any different than a 2019, 2020.... After how many modules do they replace the entire thing? Is there a fire risk - the dealer doesn't think so and no notice from Jag to park outside. I wish there was some info from LG about what they 'fixed' in the production of the battery.

What has got lost in this fiasco is that the number of batteries flagged for module replacement is magnitudes greater than the number of fires.

That tells me that JLR was extremely cautious with the H441 approach, resulting in the flagging of many batteries than may or may not have been future fire hazards.

What we really need to know is the identity of vehicles involved in fires, and the details of LG's production problems.

To answer an earlier question, I just had a new battery replacement pack installed (12/12/24 - full pack, not just some cells) in my 2019 under the H484 recall. Now restricted to 80% charging cap, before it's even out of the shop. JLR is no help. No H514 recall in Topix, or software/firmware update was requested by me. I'm currently putting up a fight and won't pick up the car until it charges the new battery to 100%...

**** yeah, and good on you ✊🏼 not everyone's situation is the same, and this nonsense has been a real aggrevation.
My car went in for a 3rd traction fault (after having "battery replacement" under 441), and the dealer gave it back to me with 50% charge because they "don't have a working charger"...

Apx 126mi with an 80mi trip home, I had to charge at the closest station to them* (because the closer stations on my trip back are typically packed/inoperable) so I arrived back with apx 35% battery.
Closest [not level 1] station is 30mins away and when I went the next day, there was a line of about 10 cars waiting on 2 chargers so I had to turn back home.

Haven't driven the POS in over 2 weeks (super convenient for the holidays) but condsidering to use the last of my charge to take this thing back to a dealership.

5/2024 I had the traction fault go off, and they also "replaced the battery", adding 441 to my VIN. Range was reduced to 80% without any heads-up.
8/2024 & 11/24 it was taken in for additional faults classed under 514.

To bring up something @Qtown charger mentioned in another post... I remember the second/third faults tripping on longer rides*.
One just before having to top-off at a super charger (where I felt the car studdering as if I'd run something over or caught multiple flats), another one just after* leaving a station and hitting the highway. Pulled over & called the dealer immediately, but was told I could drive but should NOT park close to other cars/homes/buildings or charge at home.
That's the Convo that made me look into the issue myself, where I found this forum. Had no real clue what was going on prior to that.

Since I bought the car in 2020, I rarely used charging stations [aside from +75mi trips so I could get back home 😂 ] because I don't have any close to home. Typically charge to 90/100% because my daily trips would bring me down to about 15/20%.

Curious if others had experienced similar situations.

Your comments are relative to your specific car which we don't know anything about and you have not provided a signature for your post to fix that problem. Every year the I-Pace changed some. If you have a question, we need to know what year your car is and what updates it has had (taken from the cars center screen settings). Thanks!

Yea... Wasn't saying that your comment had anything to do with tripping 441.
Couldn't find the thread I'd referenced, and was curious if anyone else experienced their battery faults during/after extended drives... Or even while charging.

And, I had added my info. It didn't seem to save.
Don't have any specific questions. Not even here for the love of EVs, or Jaguar... If i hadn't found this forum I wouldn't been in the dark about a lot.

I believe the traction battery warning associated with H441 is triggered after a charging session. In my case, twice on starting the car after an overnight charge.

There are other slightly differently worded "traction battery faults" associated with weak 12v batteries and/or the wiring harness issue that occur independent of charging.
