Read all the forums. There is a bug in the software and Jaguar has released the software update. Try manually updating the software by holding the left service/maintenance button on your overhead. Not the Jaguar roadside assistance button

I was wondering the same thing, after all he checked the "fuse box" really .. which one?
Search on slow boot.

Seems to work.
My car is at the Dealer

My car was shipped back to Honolulu (from Maui) on Monday and I just got off the phone with Service. They are telling me there is no update to fix the screen issue and they do not expect one until next month. They claim they will be speaking with UK tomorrow and will have "more information" then. Seems odd that with so many cars having this issue they are not working hard on a fix.

You are assuming they are not working on a fix. Automotive software is not like debugging desktop or cellphone stuff. It's more like debugging medical or flight hardware. You need to actually test the patch before shipping, well, except for Tesla.

Have you tried the Slow Boot? Disconnecting 3rd party interfacing components (anything that talks on the bus)?

Well our I-pace is back from Honolulu and all is well. It was of course a simple software update and the vehicle is working normally now. The only downside to the experience is that the car had to take 2 boat rides and it took 2 weeks to get it back after a 15 minute update!
Glad to hear you're back in business, #Waltk! Seems it would have been simpler for them to come to you! Most of us can't imagine *boating* to the nearest dealership, but I almost moved to Maui 20 years ago for business (had condos in Kihei and Honolulu in escrow, then bailed). You must have one of (if not) the only I-Pace on Maui? Warm weather and not enough road to create any range anxiety! Probably not much in the way of public charging, though?

Did you ask how come an OTA update wasn't available?
Also what version of the software are you on?
I picked up my car tonight. Yipee! However after charging at an eVgo DCFC to 80%, when I started the I-Pace I got the dreaded blank screens (both top and bottom). What are the possible solutions again other than taking it to the dealer for an update? The car just got PDI'd so one would think any recent update would have been applied.

Thanks!

Mine was fixed via an OTA that I never even noticed anything about. I never went to the dealer I simply went after some days to confirm that something was done when I noticed all was good again and stable. I am in Europe and hence different software and possibly different rollout date and time as well. The only manual thing I did before things started working was I disconnected all things (phone, bluetooth devices) from the car and then all magically went away.

Somewhere I posted the official JLR TOPIx troubleshoot chart for the blank screen syndrome. It is interesting to note that you can turn your center displays off deliberately. That makes me wonder if a bug is kicking the car into that mode.
I made a new thread that starts with the troubleshoot chart to make it easier to find:

Congrats! (On the car, not the black screen)
What software versions do you have? 14.2 and S18D?

Thanks! Unfortunately I can't check the software version with blank screens, right? Are they still fiddling with your lane keep assist problem? Like I said before, they replaced the camera in my case for the lane keep assist problem. In your case it's sensor?

So with a week of ownership, close to 350 miles on the odo and no black screens I was feeling pretty lucky. This afternoon I get in the car to pick up lunch, punch the start button and the instrument cluster powers up but both screens remain stubbornly black. My heart skipped a beat but I decided to take Dantrium's advice and just ignore it and go about my business. I had barely pulled out of the parking lot when both the screens came back to life with the top one showing the profile welcome message. It just seemed like a really slow boot-up. After hearing a lot of people on the forums suggesting that setting up profiles causes the black screen I had resisted its siren call so far. But I had finally decided to give it a try yesterday so maybe that's what caused it? I will leave the profile in there for now and see if the black screens reappear. If they do I'll delete till that feature is ready for prime time.

Probably if you look closely your infotainment screen in the middle console lights up a bit greyish now, is that correct? (Backlight still on).
Go to the back of the car, open the trunk and on the right you can take a part of the side out, to find a fusebox. All the way in the back there is a huge grey cable, unplug this with the car turned off.
Put it back in and notice that your screen has gone black now (instead of gray, the backlight is off). It will stay black when you turn on the car, the radio might start playing.

If you try to start the car you get some unimportant warning, you can ignore this.

Please make sure the car is charged to >80% SoC, start it with the button and keep it in "P".

Press and hold the button on the left of the upper part in the 'roof console' (right one is SoS, left one is to connect with the Remote app and also force updates). Press and hold this left button for more than ten seconds, it blinks slowly now. With a little luck your screens will come back now.

If this doesn't work then make sure you leave the car parked overnight with good reception and >80% charge and repeat the button pressing on the inside of the roof when in "P" the next morning.

I notice that my screens both "turn on" before I press Start. Maybe it's best to try to let that happen uninterrupted. Get in, and put your seat belt on first. THEN start the car.
How do I check to see what version software I have? I just got my car today and really want to make sure it has all the updates before I potentially get the black screen of death..
