Model 3 takes a hit from Consumer Reports

With so much talk about build quality and comparison to Tesla, it is worth noting that Tesla's quality issues have just risen to the level of Consumer Reports actually dropping its recommendation for the Model 3. FYI, the I-Pace still shows "In Test" on the Consumer Reports website...

I own a Model 3 Performance , and out of the 150,000 model 3’s on the road it will be small in comparison to other new ev cars, it will be great to see CR on the I-pace reliability too? I am considering the I- pace and awaiting more feedback on its pros and cons

CR hasn't had a great track record on car reviewing or reliability reports. Their reliability report methodology is weak and like anyone else, hands-on reviewing is tainted by personal bias. There are better places to find objective feedback.

I must agree, not a fan of CR reliability reports. That said, the stories of M3 issues are impressive.
Then again, I don't need CR to be suspect of Tesla reliability. I can't say that Tesla is less reliable than GM either. A lot depends on the model.

The way they've been pushing 3s out the door is one reason I don't trust that car (my sincere apologies to those of you who own one). The other reason is that I've seen too many bad things in pictures and video and that's across all Tesla models, though the 3 and the X have been far worse than the S. No car from any maker should have been shipped with these glaring problems. I can't unsee what I've seen. :surprise:
