I've found the surround sound system good, but not great. I doubt you are missing out on a ton by not having it. BTW, I doubt there are many cars on here w/o the surround system...most seem to be HSE's.

messed around with it for a while and this is the best I could get it to sound. Never had the bass this high on any system before, but it sounds somewhat lifeless without. Keeping the subwoofer very low allows you to turn up the volume some more without too much distortion.
