Not a ton of info but here is what they said.

Those Who have had the latest update will be first in line.

Notices should go out at earliest end of this week but most likely next week via email, Phone, and mail.

They are going to ask you to take your Ipace to the local dealer

You will be assigned a mediator as part of this process for negotiating purposes.

Lets all stick together and share during this process to make sure know one is taken advantage of.

Posted this on another recall thread but found this one. Quoting below. Is the consensus that we should be getting 40-50k back for the 2019 HSE? I got my car from Vroom 3 years ago, so I don't know if I would be contacted for a buy back at all. Appreciate any input from the group here.

Talking to the dealer now. My car has about 36,000 mi. They would give me $28,000 for it and another $6,000 incentive on a new ipace. They would also do the 2025 ipace at 10% below MSRP, which they have as listed at $81,000.
That gets it down considerably and I can't help but wonder if I should be grateful or is this even enough for the trouble we've had to deal with on a car that won't ever be made again.
I love my car and it drives just fine, but the **** 80% Max charge limits the ability to travel to nearby cities without charging along the way. I found this out the hard way on a cold weather trip last month where the car had 1.8 miles battery used per actual mile driven.
I guess I'm just looking for some comparison from some of you out there or some opinions on this offer. Thanks!

I would run your VIN on Jaguar’s recall page as that will tell you if it’s subject to H514 and the buyback. It shouldn’t matter where you purchased the vehicle.

I am a fellow Vroom purchaser used back in 2021. I got the recall letters (two for H514) but neither mentioned the buyback just the software charging limit which I had applied. I assume the website has more up to date info than the printed letters.

I believe in Washington State the formula under their lemon law is: (Purchase Price X Mileage) / 120,000 = BuyBack. The problem is, 1) What's included in the Purchase Price and 2) Mileage as of what date. Yesterday I submitted an inquiry to my state's AG to see what they know and whether they are involved. I think this is going to be a long journey.

Yessir, agreed. Had received a pm from someone saying they were denied by Cali Lemon Law. Wonder if this is part of their negotiating tip. I understand its's a big move for JLR, but my first fault happened +3 years ago so they've known something was up for a minute.
Going on 7 weeks of not driving because I have nowhere to charge... And the IPace resale val has plummeted due to this issue. They gunna figure this out.
Curious if anyone had factored-in owners going to the media about this, you know, being as how they're 'going all electric' 🥸

Anyone get anything yet? I'm starting to think that this is a stall tactic. Called up Jaguar and told that there is no time frame. They would guess 60-90 days. In the meantime, our iPace wont go more than 130 miles, even though it says 195 range. What a disaster of a car. Four months and from what I can tell they haven't bought back a single car for this latest recall. Meanwhile the car is almost unusable.

I started my case with Jaguar before the holidays and as of yesterday I just completed my first car inspection . at this point it will now go to "Consumer affairs'" which is a JLR unit and I am told they will make the purchase offer. I am located in Ca so I am not sure if this makes a difference but I will post my experiences. Right now I am curious as to know what they will offer given my scenario:

I purchased the car used with 26k miles on it. I paid 65 K for it.
I had the first issue with the battery at 30k miles
I have 83K miles now.

In my estimation the only miles they can depreciate are the 4k miles driven until I had the first issue. This means I should get close to my entire amount I paid for the car. This is CA lemon Law i believe. Who knows what they will try to offer.

Jaguar could cost us all $7500 by their slow progress. Fortunately, the GOP can't just change the law behind the subsidies, but that is supposing we are a society that follows laws.
"this federal support for EVs was part of a 2022 law that may require congressional action to change, although the details of the tax credit were set by the Internal Revenue Service, not Congress.". https://www.cnn.com/2025/01/22/business/trump-ev-policy-change/index.html

Here is a question for everyone. The H514 Recall states that the remedy for those that are covered by this recall is a buyback. How written in concrete is that? Is it possible that some months down the road the buyback remedy could be changed? The reason I am asking is that I am thinking of doing the following since I'm not driving the car: 1) Telling my insurance company that the vehicle is in "storage" so that I don't have to pay insurance for a car I am not using; 2) Not drive that car, because I don't want the car to depreciate at around $0.60 per mile; and, 3) I want to cancel my extended warranty that I just purchased last October and get a good chunk of change back. Thanks for any input.

🤦🏻‍♂️ yeaaaa beibiii. Man, haven't seen that movie in ages 🇬🇧

And I get it, I would never risk anyones safety or well being if I was officially warned about something.
A neighbor's ev caught fire and it took the entire brigade to put it out.
What I'm getting from these comments is simply proceed with caution.

Called yesterday and they were acting suspect; very evasive. The dealerships probably know less than anyone on here 😂

My case started November ‘24 when I called a few phone numbers (forget which) but eventually someone from JLRNA Customer relations emailed me saying they would process the case. After some back n forth about service records and paperwork etc Today they said they had enough info to send it to the Process Specialist Team who will in turn send the paperwork to Consumer Affairs (which sounds official but I think it’s just another internal department).

waiting to hear back…

I’m in California and paid $101,000 (incl 10% sales tax) for a 2019 First Edition. If I get some kind of low ball trade ofer I’ll go to ca consumer affairs or find a lemon law attorney. Driving a ticking time bomb of fire is more stressful than range anxiety.

The car is no ticking time bomb. All 2019s outside the USA have no restrictions on charging unless you have a module flagged by the software that will get replaced. Otherwise, JLR cares less about the safety of international customers than of their American ones.

I received an email out of the blue two days ago addressed to me concerning the buyback. I have copied the portion that instructs what you will need to present in documentation to proceed in the buyback process. See the following from JLR.

As we are waiting for your service history, we will need you to provide your full Sales Contract / Lease Agreement, prior to submitting your case to a Process Specialist for your Consumer Affairs Review.

To facilitate this process, please send a copy of your Sales Contract or Lease Agreement, by emailing back on this thread -without altering the subject line.
(We will need the full contract in its entirety, if providing photos or scan, please ensure it is clear and fully readable).

Please Note: Leased Vehicles
· If you purchased the vehicle off-lease.

· We will need you to also include documentation from your lender that reflects the purchase off-lease. (Purchase Date, Amount Paid/Owed, Etc.)
Please also include, in your own words, the reason for purchasing the vehicle off-lease.
· If you extended your lease.
· Please include the date it was extended, how long the extension is for, and the reason for extending the lease.
· If you have extended your lease more than once, please include all date durations.

If you are unable to locate your Sales Contract / Lease Agreement, you can call the Selling Retailer and request they email you a copy.
