Not a ton of info but here is what they said.

Those Who have had the latest update will be first in line.

Notices should go out at earliest end of this week but most likely next week via email, Phone, and mail.

They are going to ask you to take your Ipace to the local dealer

You will be assigned a mediator as part of this process for negotiating purposes.

Lets all stick together and share during this process to make sure know one is taken advantage of.

I'll add my experience so far, since the info I was given is slightly different (and probably equally suspect). I was at the dealer last week for the software update and asked about the buyback. Was told they don't know anything and given the number for corporate.
I called that today and was given the same info about a dedicated team calling/emailing the owners (unless you bought in California, which I didn't) but that I had to start a case with the dealer before I would get that communication. Said the case should be about "problems with the recall" and to have them use program code N623 (which is an old Land Rover recall number, so I don't know if it's correct).
So next up is a conversation with the dealer again. We'll see if they suddenly know anything.

I just took my car in for the new H529 botched update recall and the service rep said a couple of their I-Pace customers had just been contacted in the past two weeks and started the process for the buyback. He didn't have any idea on ETA for me and I still need to wait for the H529 software to show up in their system before the car has charging limited and I am eligible.

I have not. I think I'll call the dealer/JLR in the New Year though. There seems to be a lack of communication and a lot of different 'suggestions' from the dealers. The dealer is not buying the car back, so why does the dealer need to raise a case? It would seem that JLR are required to initiate the process to me, but I'm not a lawyer. At this point the owners have not been told about the buy back, so how could we even raise that to the dealer? My last communication from JLR had nothing about a buy back - my only info on that is from this forum. I don't know how many 2019 customers are on this forum, but my guess would be 10%. Oh well - Anyway Happy holidays and a great New Year to you all.

The dealer is not buying the car back,
I am not so sure about the dealer not wanting to buy my car back. They sabotaged my car in September and told me it was part of the H514 recall. (The H514 recall info to work on the cars came out Oct 18, 2024). Why else would they have sabotaged and lied to me about what they did to my car, except for there is someone at the dealer who wants my car for a steal. (and they know how to un- sabotage it).

I have 2019 iPace. Was one of the first to get in Florida. Over the past year had similar battery problems and fixes which would take weeks. I have also had battery reduced to 80%. I believe I was part of the h514 battery issue. Most recently got the car back and couple of days later got a traction battery fault. Called dealer and made appointment to get fixed. On day of appointment, service manager called and said "There is no fix and JLR is going to buy your car back". She called the next day and buy back was $23,500 - which is consistent with KBB value. My car has 51k miles. I am not looking to trade into another JLR car so no mentions of trade in value. That was last week but Christmas holidays have slowed down the "paperwork". But she assured me this was a done deal and go ahead a get another car - I am about to sign papers for BMW i7.

My question to this group is are other people getting similar cash offers? Let's leave the California guys out of this comparison as they have better state laws to help protect them. But elsewhere around the country what are for cash offers you are seeing? To my understanding, these offers are coming from JLR - not the dealership.

Although I love the car, at this point after all the battery issues (now down to 72% max charge) - I am willing to take a small hit to get rid of the car but at same time don't want to be taken for a ride.

Thanks for any feedback

Agreed. On this forum, NO ONE has received any actual offer for a buyback from JLR (and they won't be doing it through dealers which are essentially franchised resellers and authorized repair centres, but are not actual JLR). If the dearer is offering something, it is because they think the buyback will yield the a profit.

I was offered a $50,000 buyback by JLR for the H484 recall. The check was to come to me, not the dealer. Being that the my state has a nearly 10% sales tax, the buyback offer was essentially $45,000 when the money was spent for a new car. That meant I would need to come up with around $25,000 to replace my 2019 I-pace with a new I-pace. I was not interested in bailing out JLR with my dollars. I took the new battery option and now have new batteries. JLR graciously also repaired some other electrical issues at no cost to me. In my experience, the service department at my dealership was outstanding. The sales department at the same dealership, and the 5 or 6 other dealers I contacted, had no interest in working with me to resolve the issue as part of trade in for a new Jaguar. Suggest that patience is a virtue and holding out for a deal that is fair is reasonable.

I started the buyback process at the beginning of September. Still no offer. Contemplating using a CA Lemon Law attorney.
The dealership had our car from 6/5 until 12/31. We refused to pick it up when they contacted us in mid December saying it was "repaired". We said no thank you, and kept the loaner car. Unfortunately they showed up at our home yesterday and dropped of the car and took the loaner back :(

…so, is it repaired? If so happy days for you and a bad day at work for your attorney!

Brilliant idea/way to stand up to these fiends. When this all started, I'd been trying to be considerate of the dealership & others who may have needed a loaner before I knew what was going on with reduced capacity + recalls; once they blew me off and told me '🤷🏻‍♂️ We got nothing, deal with it', I found this forum.
Already filed complaints with Bbb & NHTSA to cover my back.
Haven't used my car in a month, and looking to seek council within the month if I don't hear anything.
Maybe I should start her up and hope for another fault so I can get a loaner 🤣.... And hold it hostage.

Do you blame them? It sucks for sure. The dealers aren't the problems. It's JLR. The dealers didn't build these cars. Honestly I blame LG Chem more than JLR for all these battery issues. The dealer needs to get their loaner back and give you back your property. I hope they resolve your buy back process soon. I know JLR has contracted a 3rd party company to help with the process. Hopefully the resolution will happen soon.

I am in California and only found out about the buyback option in mid December after I experienced more battery issues with the car. My cars vin is on of the 2019 ipaces that supposedly is going to be bought back(I looked it up on JLR website). I continued to be given the run around with JLR about there being a process and they are not sure how long things can take. I thought it would be clear and simple especially when they know my VIN number is one of the vehicles that they need to buy back. I am in CA and with our lemon laws I am led to believe that everything will work itself out . However, with the lack of communication from JLR it may be best just to hire a lawyer? Having my car charge to only 80% of capacity does not work for my commute so I frustrated and feel like I am not being heard.
I went through the lemon law process in CA with great success with my 2019. Happy to share more if interested in a private message

I had to call in today about an issue with my InControl subscription. While I was on the call with support I asked about the recall/buy back. I was told they are assembling the outreach team now and are behind schedule, but that they should start contacting owners in the next week or two and I was on the list to get contacted.

I keep getting marketing emails from my dealership for purchasing extended warranty for my 2019 IPACE HSE (its part of the Buy Back VIN).....its so weird.
I am also in CA and I really like the car but 80% charge capacity doesn't work for me and I don't want to screw JLR by adding lemon law attorney in the mix JLR will end up paying a lot more if I do that but first I want to hear from JLR on what the offer is.

I've just spent the last two hours reading just about every post on the I-Pace forum and it's interesting that there are very few finalized outcomes being reported. There is also much confusion based on some talking about different recalls. Mine is the H514 which includes the buyback. Lastly, it seems that the buyback someone will get is based on the laws in the state you live in. I'm in Washington, which I think has good consumer laws. That is my take on all of these postings.

That being said, here is my status. I called my "local" dealership today. I say local, but it's 300 miles from where I live. My local dealership shut their doors in November. Anyway, they said that all they do is take possession of the car once the buyback has been completed by JLR of USA. They don't deal in any of the negotiations. So, I called JLR customer service. All she could tell me is that JLR is not handling the buyback and to wait for a call from "Consumer Affairs". When I asked her to clarify which Consumer Affairs, she said the US department. I then realized she really didn't know what she was talking about. Based on a number of posts on this thread I believe she was referring to the JLR team that is being set up to process the buyback claims.

I guess I'll just sit back and wait for a call. I'm retired, so I've got all the time in the world to work any negotiations and I'm a dog with a bone. Besides, I love this car. I've had it just over 5 years and has only 16,250 miles. The only issue I've had is the charge port had to replaced, the two 12v/Aux batteries had to be replaced, and the passenger side axle seal had a leak. That's it. No out of pocket expenses. I also have not had the update done to reduce to 80% charge. Don't want to make a 600 mile round trip just for that. Will be interested to read some actual buyback results in the next few weeks.

I've had a very similar experience. I like my car and it has only 19k miles. My dealer also replaced the aux batteries at no charge even though they were out if warranty. I reluctantly had the H514 software recall performed here in NJ even though I had been charging to 100% without issues.

I'm also retired and also plan to wait out JLR. I called in December and was put on a list for their "team" to get back within two weeks (which of course never happened). This week's call was worse. A clueless representative said it's now being handled by "consumer affairs". When I asked her if that was some kind of outside agency, she was evasive, and I realized that there is no such thing, that the issue is still inside JLR and they are stalling. (Fat Cat post said the same thing)- "consumer affairs" is a JLR fabrication.

Hey Sparky, I'm also from WA. I am also just starting the buyback journey. (I just posted today on this thread if you want to read my story.) Would you be interested to make contact via email one-on-one? I'd be interested in sharing our experience to help in getting the best deal. Interested?

I'm also in WA. We leased then purchased a 2019 First Edition that was one of the demo cars. We've had a few issues with it, but nothing major. We also decided to not get the software updates due to the decreased milage and it's a MAJOR hassle to get our car worked on at our local dealer. We are also retired and have other vehicles, so we are in no hurry to get the buyback. We are both very stubborn and tenacious, so we will not take just any "deal".
Funny enough, I got the attached letter in the mail yesterday; so the "land sharks" are starting to take notice and trying to get their "share". This is going to get fun!!!:cool::cool:
