Not a ton of info but here is what they said.

Those Who have had the latest update will be first in line.

Notices should go out at earliest end of this week but most likely next week via email, Phone, and mail.

They are going to ask you to take your Ipace to the local dealer

You will be assigned a mediator as part of this process for negotiating purposes.

Lets all stick together and share during this process to make sure know one is taken advantage of.

I'm not a lawyer, but my understanding is that if you're in California you should be getting something close to your total $ in, not current market value. I went ahead and filed a CA lemon law case in court last week, if only so that the whole mess becomes a conversation between lawyers that I can stay out of until it's done. I'll let you know how that goes (subject to confidentiality language).

I have no idea where I actually stand legally on this issue. I had no intention of changing my I-Pace for the next 5 years. Is the buyback optional? What if I refuse? What am I legally entitled to, vs what will Jag offer? If anyone is a lawyer, or has spoken with a lawyer and is willing to share their information, I would be interested to hear what they say. I also appreciate that this may vary state to state, but it is at least a starting point.

The jaguar rep I spoke with today told me the official communication is to expect an email, phone call, and letter within 2 to 3 weeks. A follow-up will come a week after. She said my assigned representative will work with me to find multiple options to correct the situation. She also said she believes that most of the affected parties will actually be contacted by the end of this week based on internal communications. The service representative at the local dealership knew nothing about it when I had the update done last week and when I spoke with him again yesterday, he's still claimed to know nothing about a repurchase program. He told me to expect another software update in the coming months to fix the problem and return the charging level back to 100%. I don't have the warm and fuzzies over this for sure...

I’ve had a similar experience. Being told it was eligible (2019 first edition) then not. After seeing multiple credible sources I went to the Jaguar site and a vin search stated as part of the recall they would buy the car back. I would love a newer I Pace though after the reveal of the “Barbie Batmobile” I’m not confident I’ll be able to get service on it moving forward. A similar concern re getting a polestar. What are the rest of you considering?

For real - Much appreciated, and hope we all find ourselves with amicable outcomes. My car is currently at the shop for a second bout of "traction fault". Went to an electrify america station and as I'm pulling in, the car starts to rumble/studder. Charge to the [now limited] 80% and within 5 mins of being back on the road "traction fault" pops up again. My service rep said it was likely another cell that died, but Jag wouldn't be able to fix any others unless a fault arose. Found this forum on Monday night... after they put me in an FPace loaner. I miss that car and wish I'd bought the lease on my old Fpace instead lol

I was reading my states (WA) lemon law. Since the first battery recall was within three years of purchase (2019 I bought in 2020) it should be a full refund scenario. I’ll wait and see. Tough shopping for another even though this is the best time to get into a new car. After nearly pulling the trigger in a Q8, I think I can’t pass up the Polstar 3 lease at just around 1% and $12,500 in incentives. That lease will give me time to see if they survive the next three years.

I've driven both a Polestar and Mach-E for extended periods while my IPace has been in service for every issue imaginable lol

The Polestar was ezcellent on range AND range prediction. All-in all a pretty comfortable ride but lacked the pep of Jag + I distinctly remember getting back into my car and thinking, ****... this is a little more luxurious (although a little more sluggish tech).
The Mach-E was also pretty dang surprising with everything from styling, movement on the road/road manners and the interior [inclusive of tech]. If I wasn't so concerned with Fords reliability on this car, she'd be a contender... But tbh, not sure I'ma go electric after this debacle.
Having to park 5 blocks from my house and being told not to charge at the house (with no stations anywhere near by) has been extremely stressful. Not tryna park in my garage and kill my family because these cats overzealously rolled out functional obsolescence. Had no clue these issues were as serious as they were until last week.

I drove a Polstar 3 yesterday. It’s a great car but…. Having to dig through the interface to adjust the mirrors etc was problematic. No CarPlay (yet) and a myriad of other “launch edition” concerns, and the $90,000 price tag made me walk. I can not handle getting gas again. Since my Leaf experience was great, I’m not put off by EVs. But maybe a PHEV? The Q8 etron lacks the Jag drive but the enterior is a step up. Guess we’ll see how much they offer.

We “replaced” the I-pace with an R1S a year ago but kept the Jag too. It became our spare car for the kids to drive when home for summer and other breaks from college. We planned to keep it for a few more years since we loved the Jag so much. We drove the Mach E for a few days while the Rivian was in the shop and were impressed. However, we went with efficiency and an inexpensive lease with an Ioniq 6 SE.

About the looks of the Ioniq 6: half my family love it and say it looks like a 911...
Indeed it does. The 911 has never been a pretty car, and Hyundai took all the worst traits from the worst years then put them together. I don't think Porsche has made a truly beautiful car since the 1960s. They do make fast cars, at least.

Hyundai's N Vision 74 is pretty darn cool looking, though it's basically a DeLorean.

The Rivian R3X looks **** good to me. If they're still around long enough to make one, I might get one.

To follow up on my previous post, I'm a little over a week into driving the car with the 514 update installed. It is consistently charging to 80%. Now, Here's the weird part. On multiple occasions since the update, while driving or preconditioning, the car will only blow ice cold air. I have had tons of glitches with the infotainment system, cameras, and the lane keep /assist, but previously, The only problem I ever had with the traction system was a "traction battery fault" warning 3 months ago. I took it into the dealership and they blamed the age of the two 12-volt batteries. That was an $800 replacement for both. Yesterday, I received a "charging system fault detected" warning, and the car would not move. It acknowledged both drive and reverse but no movement. I turned it off and Turned it on multiple times. Each time with the same result and same warning. I locked the car and walked away for an hour and when I came back, voila, it started right up and ran. The heat worked as normal for the remainder of the day. I love love love this car, but as my daily driver doing 24,000 mi a year I don't think I could get into another one.

my 2019 did this with the ac glitch and they preformed the JLRTB02109NAS1 technical bulletin. They gutted the entire plumbing and it took a month and the issue was resolved. I got it back and then water pooled into the driver's foot well. They found no windshield leak (common issue) but did have to re-flash the driver side ac module, found it to be running too cold. That seemed to fix the issue. I'm still under basic, which luckily covered the repairs

Hey Everyone - Has anyone had any luck in WA State on a buyback? We've been pretty fortunate (or maybe unfortunate in this case) to have only had the car in the shop maybe 3 weeks in total. Ive been trying to figure out based on the discussions what I'd be looking at roughly for a 2019 FE HSE w/82k miles, a high voltage controller replacement, a couple of 12v battery replacements and a leaky window (out of warranty, have some nicely placed tape on the windshield keeping the water out). We didn't want to drop the money into it if a buyback is happening. But reading between the lines in the post is tough - wish there was an anonymous poll or log of what people are seeing w/general values in a spreadsheet or something... The car is fantastic, absolutely love it and WISH it would be fixed, but now I'm too worried about future problems/support and parts. NOTE: I have NOT had the big recall update for charging (80% limiter) done yet - we had a 12v battery that would no longer hold a charge the morning the work was scheduled and haven't handled that yet. And now I'm also trying to digest if there is any advantage to NOT do the update. Apologize if those 2 things (Washington State Buyback success and the software update) has been covered - there's so much discussion on those topics...

SURVEY: HEY EVERYONE.

Piggybacking off my last post - I KNOW THIS IS A NON-STARTER FOR SOME HERE BECAUSE OF THE NDA'S. That said, I created an ANONYMOUS survey in SURVEYMONKEY that asks a few simple questions about general buyback experience (year, State you live, mileage, buyback status, $ amount, and if its in the dealer currently for repairs).

The 'free' SURVEYMONKEY tier I believe only allows 50 people to answer so it shouldn't be up more than a few days. I will provide a summary of the responses in Excel or CSV format for digestion.

The 'anonymous' caveat: SURVEYMONKEY does collect the IP address of the computer that completed the form but that's all/no names or addresses. I know that forensic investigation might be possible but its a pain in the ass > and if the survey is answered in a coffee shop/pub or a friends WIFI, etc - then the IP address will be of that establishment/won't know who submitted it and I doubt JLA would subpoena survey monkey and then have to trace IP addresses - I could be wrong but wanted to share the risk.

LINK: Jaguar I Pace Recall and Buyback Tracker.

Again, skip it if you're worried. For people who haven't started the process and you're curious - you're in the clear.

Without sounding critical: What is YOUR basis for a buyback, other than the H541 recall?

If H541 is the only criteria you meet, the info gathered will be entirely irrelevant since to my knowledge nobody has had a buyback completed under H541 to date.

I tried the generic warranty number and was told the operation is restarting for everyone, expect a call in two weeks. I tried to have the software update done to the vehicle and the dealership said it was 2 for 2 updates causing traction faults. I opted to postpone til monday so I can service at a closer dealership and avoid not having a car. That dealership rep started going into how a vehicle that was 2 days out of basic being denied coverage, but I'm unsure that this was for the h514 recall. He started diving into battery warranty was just for battery health. I should have had him clarify but I told him I wasn't about to argue with him. Seriously, I can't see how a cell being bad is anything but a battery health issue. Anyway, has anyone been offered a buyback on H514 specifically? What about battery replacement? Dealer made it seem that the option of a new battery was not yet ruled out, could go either way

wating for my buy back info on the 2019 - have a 2024 I4 M50 and love it. It is much lower and very "car like" as in it does not get the looks the ipace does but man it goes. 3ish seconds to 60? 210 KW charging at fast chargers 10-80 in 15-20 mins....downside? Not as good of sound system, no vented seats, less room but even with the dual motor and a heavy foot I get close to 300 miles of range, that and the MUCH faster charging - I am happy. If they give me any decent buy back on the ipace I will probably get another i4 but the e40 for the husband.

I was about to buy one of this bad boys, but I noticed the vin is listed for a buyback. It's a good deal (about 3k below the KBB value), but I'm not sure now. Do you folks think I should join this fight?

Good luck to all of you, and sorry if this question is annoying (but hey, I'm looking forward to joining this gang and I'd like to think I would make a better comrade than the dealership that got this car as a trade-in!)
