Jaguar’s latest all full-electric concept caught our eye last year and it was even more stunning with a new paint called Photon Red. Judges from various publications took note and the I-Pace walked away with both the Production Preview Concept title and the Most Significant Concept Vehicle of 2017 award at the sixteenth annual North American Concept Vehicle of the Year Awards.

Visiting the Concours d’Elegance of America at St. John’s, the International Automotive Media Registry handed out awards in recognition of concept vehicles that have made a strong impact in terms of automotive design, engineering and market responsiveness.

This year concept vehicles were divided into three categories: Production Preview Concepts, Concept Cars, and Concept Trucks.

Entering the first category, the I-Pace won by beating its rivals including the Infiniti QX50, Subaru Ascent, and Volkswagen Passat GT. A panel of judges scored the nominated vehicles and the Jaguar I-Pace come out on top by scoring more points than any other vehicles in all categories, thus why it also received the Most Significant Concept Vehicle of 2017 trophy.

No small feat if you consider what other concept models were nominated this year including the Aston Martin RB 001 Valkyrie, the Genesis GV80, and the Volkswagen I.D. Buzz.

The most impressive to me was the fact that test mules and pre production models look very much like the concept, not something you see often from car makers these days especially in something so advanced looking. Said it before and will say it again, if there's anyone to take attention away from the Model X... it's Jaguar.

surprised the I-Pace received more points than the Aston Martin RB 001 Valkyrie. May not be the most affordable or practical concept but that thing is a sight to behold.
They did base the award off significance so that being the case its easy to see why these ranked where they did and Jaguar is lucky they're slightly ahead of the curve with the I-Pace concept since other car makers are poised to come out with something similar. If the Porsche Mission E concept was out, it could have rivaled the I-Pace
