The moment we’ve been waiting for is approaching; Jaguar is going to reveal the production ready I-Pace electric SUV on March 1. Ahead of its public debut at the Geneva Motor Show on March 6, Jaguar will be unveiling the I-Pace online via a live global broadcast on the 1st at 1:00 p.m. ET. What’s more, I-Pace ordering books will open on that very same day.
According to AutoBlog, that wasn’t the only piece of news from the British manufacturer. With a 100-kilowatt DC fast charger, the I-Pace can regain 80% of its battery in just 45 minutes, which sounds better than the concept’s estimated 80% charge time of two hours on a 50-kW fast charger.
Much remains a mystery until the I-Pace’s livestream reveal including its range and performance. Perhaps we’ll see numbers similar to what the concept had to offer, which was 220 miles range on a full charge and a pair of electric motors delivery 400 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. That’s enough to rocket the I-Pace from 0-60 mph in around 4 seconds. Of course this is likely to be toned down in the production model.
What we can expect to stay true to concept is the electric vehicle’s exterior design. The multitude of prototype spy phots we’ve seen indicates as much.
