Issues with garage door opener, heated windshield

We have identified that the wiring in the heated windshield interferes with signal of the garage door opener. We synchronized the rearview mirror button to the door opener, but often the signal gets jammed by the windshield. However, it works best when parking in reverse, as there is less interference.

That seems a little odd. It is known that the heated windshield interferes with radio signals which is why there is a spot near the windscreen for highway transponders (no heater wires in a rectangular section) however presumably the antenna for the built-in garage door opener transmitter would be placed somewhere outside?

My toll road transponder works well in the designated area to the side of the mirror mounting.

The Homelink opener distance varies by day. Some days I can be going past my neighbor and it will open while other days I have to enter my driveway before it will open. I have two openers and programmed two Homelink buttons. One opener responds better than the other. This makes me think the problem is more of a signal reception by the opener than the signal sending by the cat.

I repositioned the "troublesome" opener's antenna wire once and it helped for a while. It may have jostled to a new position and needs repositioning again. You might check the receiving antenna wire position on the opener in your garage and try a different position.

I've been thinking of getting an accessory that can be mounted closer to the garage door itself (or outside), wires to the opener like a wall button, and is supposed to improve signal reception.

I don’t have a heated windshield and often times I have to get close enough to the garage door that the parking sensor tell me I am about to crash into the door before the opener starts raising the door. Two other home links and two remotes open the garage from 30-60 feet every single time.

I have also found that I have better luck with the mirror door opener in the Jag, by pressing it as I am making the turn into my driveway, while backing into my driveway. I have also found that LED bulbs in the door opener, interfere with the remote door openers working. And my dashcam will not pickup a GPS signal through the front windshield. With a white car, the dash cam is mounted low to stop the windshield hood glare from blinding the dash cam.

+1 for LED bulb interference. If you have any LED bulbs in your garage light or outside lights, try turning them ALL off and retesting.

I had some older FEIT LED bulbs on my outside lamps. I could be standing outside the garage door and the remote would not work. Turn off the lights and it worked fine from the street. Replaced with the more expensive CREE bulbs and problem was gone.
