Jaguar isn't a small company. It's part of Tata, a massive company. Size doesn't seem to matter. I knew going in that the dealership experience and reliability would be questionable. I did buy a Jaguar.
Tata has zero presence in the US and Jaguar isn't much better. It might be a large company, but it's one that is failing and losing dealerships left and right. Honda sold twice as many accords in February alone as Jaguar has sold iPaces in their entire 6 year run. Lucid sold 10 times more Airs than Jaguar sold iPaces last year. Getting service is already a challenge, and with all signs pointing to yet another bankruptcy and sale, the Jaguar ownership experience isn't looking to be improving anytime soon. Like i said, i love the car, but it turned into a liability.

Not sure where this idea of bankruptcy and sale is coming from, but as part of Tata motors, JLR is just a name plate and an office/manufacturing site owned by a company that definitely isn't going bankrupt.

Well when half your dealers are leaving the brand, you're canceling new models without announcing replacements and you're not profitable...

I might be wrong about the details, but every industry analyst has a pretty bleak outlook for the brand.

Waiting times for basic parts are now months. ETA on my car is 3+ months. Some years back the spare parts, that it needed quite frequently, came in just in a few days.
The last time they had to make a diagnosis that needed feedback from Jaguar, there was no actual Jaguar engineer available - the non-official recommendation was just to drive until it stops. Paid 1300 EUR, for nothing.

A few weeks back the car scared me. It showed an emergency brake system error. I stopped the car, but just before I managed to completely stop it, pressing the brake pedal, the car started to accelerate. It was only like 3 meters, and it stopped on repeated press of the break, but it was a scary experience.

I know I signed up for a car with high maintenance cost, but at least I want to have the option to get it fixed. I'm afraid that these cars will be in a junk yard in few years.

That sounds like the auxiliary battery (if yours has one). Definitely not having good luck with it!

This was my biggest issue. Expensive parts and maintenance on a nice car that I enjoy is something I can deal with. Unavailable parts and maintenance on my primary transportation is a dealbreaker.

Like many, my ownership experience has been nothing short of a disaster, but at least everything up until now has been covered by warranty. I can’t believe that at the height of my antenna problem I asked the dealership to buy me out. They gave me an offer that I thought was $10 or so too low. What a fool I was. I could‘ve escaped the future of having a non-operating vehicle with no means to dispose of it. This will be my destiny. My serious question is: how will I dispose of this POS? It can’t be scrapped like a normal vehicle. Who “recycles” these cars? What do you do with it when after 15 catastrophic failures and it can’t be fixed and there are no dealers around? I’m serious about getting an answer as JLR offers me nothing.

non-sequined: I just returned from a 385 mile road trip. 330 miles of this trip was 73 mph highway driving, some headwinds and low 40s average temp. The rest was mixed in-town driving. The car gobbled 183 kWh of ju8ce giving it an average of 48.8kwh/100 miles. Friggin awful

This really sucks, because I absolutely LOVE my car, however it's starting to feel like a ticking time bomb. 2019 First Edition, that I bought 2 years ago. Just a month after I bought it the thing shut down on me while driving on the freeway, with all sorts of errors. Got towed in and dealer found nothing. Less than a month later it did the same thing, but thankfully not while driving. This time they found all sorts of problems, replaced the rear inverter and some other stuff. Then I got the recall notice about the battery software, and shortly after making an appointment to bring it in got a traction battery fault. Brought it in in January and they blamed the 12V battery, which they charged me $700 for since I was a whole 2 months out of warranty. Not even 2 months later I get another traction battery fault and now the car won't charge above 72%. I just got a text from the dealer saying that it needs a module replaced (I'm guessing battery module but he didn't say) and that it's on indefinite backorder and could be months.

So now I'm left with a car that I love, but which can't even get me to work and back (I have a 95 mile commute each way). On top of that there simply aren't any other EV's out there that really interest me, other than ones that are hugely more expensive, or are being built by manufacturers that are equally unstable. I was hoping this car would last me a few more years until some of the EV newcomers have matured a little, but now it looks like I'm gonna have to suffer the waiting game just to get rid of this thing ASAP, before those newcomers even get to the market.

If any of you have suggestions on a replacement, i'm all ears. Criteria for me is that it has to have better range, equal or better acceleration, good build quality and value. AND IT CANNOT BE A TESLA. I like the styling on the Ioniq5, and would be interested in the Sport N or whatever version, but it's not here yet. I really really like the Taycan Cross/Sport turismo but they are a bit outside my budget, and still questionable in my mind, but that is my top choice so far. I'm also somewhat interested in Rivian, and the R1T would be useful for me, but I have serious doubts about the company. The R3 they just announced really interests me as well, but it's vaporware for the next year or 2 at least and I clearly don't have that long. Ugh. This really just killed my mood. I don't want a new car. I just paid this **** thing off too.
I am selling my beautiful 2022 I-Pace, regretfully. Just signed up for a 3 year lease with Hyundai for a Ioniq 6, after comparing all other EVs out there. This is an incredible car with massive technology, 320 miles of range, quite affordable, and plenty of zip. Check the YouTube reviews.

Congrats on the new vehicle. I'm assuming this is the RWD with that range. How is the acceleration on the highway? I feel the AWD EGMP cars peter out on the highway, except the GV60.

Goodbye, I-Pace. It's been mostly awesome. ...Except for that 3-1/2 month stint waiting for a battery module to be replaced after H441. Hello, i4 M50 in San Remo Green! I liked the blue like Snowflake's, but the ones they had in stock had the red interior which I'm not a big fan of. I went with the lease to take advantage of the $7500 discount.

A lot of I-Pace owners have moved on to the i4, especially the M50. FWIW, I avoid i4talk as the mod is a control freak and killjoy. In the early days, that forum was a blast, though.

I spent a bit of time on the Macan EV forum and the mod is a clear anti-EV. Only posts illustrating the challenges of EVs and why they suck seem to make it while any discussion about EV advantages get flagged as controversial or off topic. This forum has been great on the other hand!

It's unfortunate how many EV haters have the need to spread their ignorance. Like, we really don't care if you don't like EVs, just go somewhere else and enjoy your life. Though I haven't posted much here I will miss this forum as it's been incredibly helpful and positive. Hopefully the Audi groups will be similarly helpful.

BMW i4 Forum - M50, eDrive40, eDrive35 (G26) EV Forum - BMW i Forums is fine if you stay in the i4 section, but when something gets crossposted, all the maroons crawl out of their parents' basements: i4 M Quad Motor Prototype spied in winter testing (video)

I can deal with people being anti-EV; that's just normal idiocy. I can't deal with people being anti-fun; that's Footloose villainy.

There has been a lot more negativity around here recently, but it's understandable with the whole battery debacle, and it's rarely toxic.

Also, why the heck are people not buying the i4 with the performance 20" tire package? The car is severely undertired without the extra grip. I noticed this on my test drive. When I eventually wear out the sticky Pirelli tires it came with, I'll pick up some MPS4S and see if they're any better.
