I see no reason to consider the Etron or EQC. The real competitors of the I-Pace are the Teslas.

Not sure I agree with that. Etron and EQC are closer in functionality to the i-Pace than any of the Teslas right now (pending Model Why). I mean, I do agree with not considering the Etron or EQC :grin2:

As far as driving dynamics go, the Etron and EQC are more barges than speedboats. The I-Pace is the clear lux pick, and the M3P is the clear performance pick. The Model X is if you really want a business write off. The Model S is if you buy your gas cars by the size of their tanks or really, really love drag strips.

What fascinates me is how slow, in general, Tesla people drive. BMWs gained the ******* rep from how the cars goad you to go faster and faster. However, when I see a Tesla on the freeway, they're usually going at the speed of traffic or maybe a bit slower. The I-Pace goads me to drive faster and faster. I would think the P3D at least would do that. I don't think I've ever seen a Tesla driven in anger on my road, but I've seen plenty of Porsches and other performance cars driven that way.

For me anyways there is a numbness in the driving dynamics in Teslas that would prevent me from wanting to drive fast and push the car. I feel disconnected, so there is none of the feedback or sharpness that prompts me to drive fast for fun. Model 3 is generally better than the S/X but still nothing like a real drivers car. It’s like how you would feel in a Honda or Toyota (some MR2s excepted).

So short of the kiddy head snap I think Teslas are best driven like mom mobiles. Even the Roadster is unbalanced enough that it discourages you from pushing too hard.
