I-Pace To Debut In Geneva With Eye-catching Red Paint

Jaguar is preparing their own electric crossover SUV and the automaker is planning to make the I-Pace’s European debut at the Geneva Motor Show a memorable one with a new paint called Photon Red.

Generally, concept vehicles will circulate around various motor shows for a year or so and to keep the public’s interest, some automakers will change the concept’s paint color on its second or third debut. We first saw the I-Pace at the LA Auto Show last year in November and it was sporting a silver paint job, but as Jaguar’s first-ever battery-powered electric vehicle the I-Pace deserves its own paint and that’s where Photon Red comes in.

"The I-PACE Concept is a radical departure for electric vehicles. It represents the next generation of battery electric vehicle design. It's a dramatic, future-facing design - the product of authentic Jaguar DNA matched with beautiful, premium details and British craftsmanship," said design boss Ian Callum.

"This isn't just a concept. It is a preview of a five-seat production car that will be on the road in 2018. This will be Jaguar's first-ever battery-powered electric vehicle and opens a new chapter in the history of our legendary brand."

Competing against the Model X, the I-Pace’s performance is nothing to sneeze at. The concept is equipped with two electric motors for an output of 400 HP and 516 lb-ft of torque. That’s enough to push it from 0-60 mph in just 4 seconds. You’d think the vehicle’s range would take a hit in light of these numbers, but the I-Pace is expected to have an impressive 500 km (310 mile) driving range.

The 87th Geneva International Motor Show is set to take place from March 9-19th and the Photon Red I-Pace will be there.

I'm expecting it to look similar to the Italian Racing Red that the Jaguar XE is offered with, maybe in a brighter shade. Jaguar is really on point with their mode lineup recently and I can't wait to see the Photon Red I-Pace in auto show pictures.
Odds are it is since usually there's always some standard colors that are offered regardless which model you get. Now this being an EV, Jag might want to offer up some first time colors that give it a more obvious EV look if ya know what I mean.

The concepts overall color scheme was a good example of this..

I'm happy their choosing to go with the Red for the Geneva show. It's a vibrant color that attracts attention, it doesn't hide any details, ideal. White and black could hide quite a bit in terms of design, but Red doesn't hinder it much.

It's at the Geneva show now! The paint looks a bit orange to me depending on the lighting and angle, so I really can't tell what the Photon Red really looks like.

All three photos you posted have different exposures and hues, none are consistent and that influences how the paint looks. From whati could tell looking at all the photos out so far, the original photo in this thread is closer to the real deal.
From what I can see, Jaguar didn't mention much that we haven't already heard of at the Geneva show. I guess we really won't see much unless a publication interviews someone from Jaguar or test mule spy shots starts circulating around the internet. When do you guys think the production I-Pace will make its debut?
Here's a video of them unloading it, this should help a little bit
