Hi everyone! Posting for the first time, though I've been lurking for awhile. I ordered my HSE in November and it is scheduled to arrive March 15. I'm starting to get excited. I have a question for my soon-to-be fellow Californian I-Pace owners. I'm trying to make sense of the PG&E rates for EV owners and have to admit it's a bit hard to predict the best plan. Our house is solar equipped and tends to run a net negative daily power usage from about mid-April through mid-September. In that situation, has anyone done the math to figure out the best rate plan assuming a usage of about 15kWh per day for an I-Pace? Once moving to an EV plan, should I move as much load as possible (e.g. pool equipment) to nighttime usage and drive my daytime usage even more negative than it already is? Suggestions appreciated!

PS: Have really learned a lot from this forum. Thanks for all your contributions!

Switch to EV Rate A. Move any load you can to the middle of the night. You'll save major money. Time shifting to evening hours with our Tesla batteries has saved us at least 1000 a year. Of course the batteries cost way more than that, but it's nice to get any payoff while also having backup.
