In EURO NCAP, the I-Pace SE scored 91% for adult occupant protection, 81% for child occupant protection, 73% for vulnerable road users, and 81% for safety assist.
This is done at 40 mph (64kph) as opposed to 35 mph for NHTSA.

Pretty cool. Watch the video they posted, shows the car auto stopping to avoid collisions and people.
Here's a quick anecdote, just slightly off topic. I was driving in the super fast lane during driving rain the other day and one lane over some siht happened, so a pickup truck pulled out right in front of me to avoid the guy in front of him and I was going way faster than that pickup. I hit the brakes, full-on panic mode. As is the case in these situations, time slows way down and I heard myself thinking repeatedly "Aw siht I'm going to hit this guy" and got closer and closer, all in a fraction of a second, still thinking "I'm going to hit this guy" and then ... no collision. My passenger had exactly the same experience.

The i-Pace has a very very short snout. If it had been longer I would have hit the guy. It's a psychological rear end collision avoider.

The I-Pace's safety features doesn't help one iota when you get hit in the rear. I got rear-ended a couple of weeks ago when it was raining. Structure underneath is intact but whole bumper needs replacing. I'm currently driving a rental car.
yea, but did you die?

sorry, had to do it

Is this on your build sheet, too?

Standard equipment, I believe. Can't get it on a Tesla!

That's a bit scary considering how it can impact insurance rates given the burden it could put on insurance companies.

aw danm, what a pisser! if the car that rear-ended you had been an i-Pace it wouldn't have rear-ended you :wink2:
[keeping fingers crossed the body shop does a good job!]

Unlucky for me I got rear ended by a Yaris. The body shop I chose, luckily, was on my insurance's network of pre-approved shops and also, Jaguar authorized aluminum body repair shop (apparently there's only a few of them)
