I-Pace faster on the track than any Tesla?

Jaguar claims to have set a new lap time record for stock electric cars at Laguna Seca. A Tesla P100D recorded a slightly faster time, but was modified for the track. Even with the Tesla's modifications - and far higher price tag - it beat the I-Pace by only about half a second.

Not sure exactly what this means, or whether I care. But it sounds impressive!

Trivia - If you see a 1.55 sixty foot number on your time slip, you are running about 2.0 second 0-60mph numbers.
For drag racers, 1.55 sixties are good for a street car. Not excellent, good. My 6420lb 2500HD 4x4 diesel pickup runs 1.54-1.56's on pump fuel. It cost $40k new, and I put another $20k into it including the required rollbar and safety equipment. [email protected] It 'was' quick for a street diesel truck at one time.

What are you going to do with it? A 10 second ET isn't fast anymore. The quickest street legal cars go over 200mph in a 1/4 mile.
$25,000 brand new full MSRP will buy you 2.7s 0-60mph with [email protected] trap speeds.
