when I open a door on my Tesla, the radio and HVAC come on right away.

Same with the iPace?

thanks
Going by brochure information the i-Pace can individualize settings via Blue Tooth. So when it hears your fob or cellphone, everything is adjusted the way you want it. I have not heard a reporter comment on it.
Or you can pre-condition the car with your phone.

"The car will even remind you if you forget your smartphone, while the key fob has Bluetooth – as you approach, your climate control, infotainment and seat-position preferences are automatically set. "

It also sets your Driving Dynamic settings, like steering weight, shock dampening, throttle tip-in.

I hope they do it better than Tesla ...

The music-on when you open the door is an interesting concept. I would prefer when-bum-is-on-seat.

I open the back door to put something in, or passenger gets in first, the audio book I was listening to has done a paragraph or more before I actually get into the seat and am ready to listen to it.

Tesla allows a key-fob to be assigned to driver-settings. Before that OTA update if wife had previously driven the car and we were then heading off together I would get in and press (my name) on the driver-select list. Seat etc. would move, and my preferences would be loaded. The settings would stay like that for the whole trip, as long as I remained the driver (which is normal for us).

That system could be a problem for folks where one driver is tiny, and the other driver isn't as the larger driver wouldn't be able to get in without adjusting the seat first ...

After the OTA update the first person to the car sets the drivers seat, regardless of which door is opened, so wife normally gets to car first and thus every time, on a trip, that I get to the car (second) I have to adjust the seat/settings.

Worse, when I get out at the Supercharger to plug in my seat adjusts to her settings 'coz she (and her fob) are still in the car / being sensed ...

Its a proper 1st world problem, that's for sure.

That said, I do like the fact that it is not just a 1, 2, 3 choice. We have named settings for "chill", "guest" and stuff like that, and could also have one for Exit (e.g. push seat back, steering wheel up).

Would be nice if Tesla had configurable seat memory for passenger seat too. We are basically him-driving, she-passenger, or vice versa ... also be nice to "put passenger seat back how it was" if someone else has adjusted it / moved forward for long legged passenger in rear seat.

I wouldn't mind memory settings for the passenger seat either. My one friend's a big guy and mangles the seat, so when my wife gets in, it's all wrong...

I've been driving my Tahoe for the past 2 months, and took my wife's 3 to work today... I miss mine, but know the 3 isn't for me. the 0-60 is great, but compared to my S.. the 30-100 just isn't there...

Dealer says "late sept" for them to have a demo car. Can't wait to get hands on with an EV that wasn't built by people actively trying to not sell them...
