If you want to get to the cabin filter to see if it needs to be changed, or in my case to remove it to cut down on a whistling noise, it is quite simply done without tools. Open the glove box and gently press down on the side supports (see photo) to release the glove box and allow it to tip forward (anything in it will fall out). You will then see the cabin filter cover: it has retaining clips on both sides. Pull one towards you (I found that it worked best to start with the right side) to release the cover (see photo). You may need to then pull the other clip as well. Remove the filter cover and the filter can then be pulled out.
