Pre H441: blissfully ignorant not knowing the car could go up in flames

Post H441/H459/H471: some monitoring to prevent fires but limits car a bit more than needed 72% vs 80%

Post H484: battery replaced (if option chosen) but BECM software at H441 final version with all new non-defective (we hope) cells.

Post H514: ?

The unanswered question: Why only US MY19 needs H514?

The unanswered question: Why only US MY19 needs H514?
Thanks @Ayepace for providing a succinct summary as always :)

The only reason I am hesitating in getting H459 is that "if" it detects a battery fault it will restrict the charging to 75% versus the 80% restriction post H514. But then again it might not detect anything at all for a few months, in which case I will have 100% capacity till then. I rarely do L3 charging (L2 95% of the time) and park outside. Decisions, decisions.

What I am really hoping for (though I seriously doubt this will happen) is that after the H514 rollout JLR will ultimately decide to give the option for a full battery pack replacement to all MY2019 owners. I will jump at that as even after 5 years of ownership there is still no other car I'd rather own/drive.

L3 charging doesn't appear to have anything to do with the situation. Most of the posts by people getting limited charging report that it started during L2 charging. It can just as easily happen while driving as the battery pouches warm up from the current flow to propel the car. Those have been very rare worldwide.

You may have a battery like mine without knowing it. Mine does not exhibit the symptoms for any cell. Charging is not limited now even after over 1 year from the original H441 was installed and at least 6 months since the final H441 was installed unexpectedly and undocumented by the dealer. I've done hundreds of L3 charging sessions and hundreds of L2 charging sessions over the years with no indication of cell module issues. H441 actually improved my L3 charging speed at low SOC to consistently reach the 103-106kW range until about 40% SOC. This might be an incentive to get H459 for your car.

You've convinced me @Ayepace ;)

My VIN is included for H514 under Topix. Replaced one module couple of months back. Contacted Dealership and found no solution yet for 514 and wait till mid October. Today morning the vehicle did not move after start. Waited for 5 minutes and restarted and was able to drive. Looks like I may have another module issue. Leased a BMW IX this month. Can't sell this IPace vehicle until I get it fixed. First and last Jaguar vehicle in my household.

2019 with 81K miles. Message is High voltage system fault detected. They fixed it one month back @Mainline Jaguar PA and it comes again. Luckily I have mechanical breakdown insurance through Geico insurance. Geico paid three times except my co-pay.

Were you happy w the IX? I have been looking at the Mercedes EQS. But worry about the length.

I never wanted to own and drive EV vehicle without warranty after 50K miles based on my last 9 years EV experience. First time leasing and happy with IX. I was looking at Rivian R1S, EQS 450 and IX. Went with IX based on reviews and lease nos. EQS has issues based on online forums. Check dealership websites and they are selling EQS 450 for 50% off for less than one year used. I would recommend lease rather than buying EV vehicle with the rebates and discounts currently offered.

The IX has excellent reviews and surprisingly good range, but the range king is the EQS. Now that I am retiring soon, I was hoping to do some trips. 400 miles on highway between charging is pretty good, and necessary for a trip to Deadhorse, AK

If anyone receives the letter with promised details after Oct 18 could you post a copy? The VIN on my 2019 is included in the H514 recall per Topix. But the dealer I purchased the I-pace from and had been handling all my maintenance and recall services (Rusnak Pasadena) was one of the dealerships that gave up their franchise last year. So I don't think I am in any dealer's database and frankly have been surprised they didn't make any efforts to transfer my maintenance info to another dealer. The dealer just closed it up without any communication from them or from Jaguar. The notice isn't clear if the Oct 18 letter will be handled by the dealers or come direct from Jaguar, but on the last recall (H441 I think) it was the dealer that reached out for that software upgrade.
Separately, I'm not thrilled about the 80% limit they are putting on per H514. Especially since it doesn't seem like it's fixing anything. I've had a more fortunate experience than many here -- other than a few minor issues and the annoyance of the prior recalls, I have generally been pretty happy with the car and not looking forward to having the battery capacity (which is already not great) throttled back further.

Letters will come from JLR North America not dealers, as do all recall letters. LR dealers should be able to continue to service J vehicles.

Maintenance records are centralized with JLR and any JLR dealer can access the history.

Though not all dealers or service advisors keep good records. I do like the service I get from my dealer, but their service reps have no technical skills.

Any diagnosis or software/firmware updates done with TOPIx Cloud are automatically recorded and saved. Standard maintenance visits will include looking for fault codes and that gets recorded.

FWIW, we replaced our I Pace with an EQS 580. The car is just amazing...like a magic carpet. I loved the I Pace when it worked, but the EQS is next level everything. Zero problems at 26,000 miles. My best friend got one, and I got my dad an EQE 500. I'm active in the EQS forums, and very few people have problems. As stated in your post, the cars have massively depreciated and are screaming deals. The depreciation is a bummer as we paid 'only' 20% off MSRP, but we'll keep it a long time so it doesn't matter a lot. I've also got an EQB 300 which has also been perfect. I'm trying to keep myself disciplined and not trade it on a nearly new EQS AMG53 at 50% off. A year after trading our I Pace, I still check in here every once in a while. I do wonder how it would have turned out, as we would have gotten a new battery. The car was so well done--just a little under baked. I do miss it.

After a year of an I-Pace with multiple problems, including getting my State Attorney General involved, my car was all fixed and everything worked as designed for a few minutes. Then they said they had to install some part of H514. So they did "PERFORM CAMPAIGN H514""51820 THE INTERIM RECALL UPDATE IS SOFTWARE ONLY. A PERMANET REMEDY IS IN DEVELOPEMENT AND WILL BE THE SUBJECT OF A FUTURE COMMUNICATION. This included charging the car up > than 95%. Then they installed the new software, which I had asked not to be installed. This caused the car to throw a Traction Battery Fault alarm back in. It took a year to get it cleared last time. I do not know yet what kw the alarm came in. I will test it in a few days, after it goes back down below 80%. My Moto will be to stay away from the Dealer!
