I'm working on stomaching the price of the Macan EV Turbo. I have been trolling the Macan forum and was really turned of by all the gear heads making sue everyone knew they did not think much of EVs (really, this forum is amazing). Have you received it yet? I'd really like your impressions (essentially looking for permission to pull the trigger).
Pull the trigger. We got a Macan EV 4S last week. It's superior in every way, just a more modern EV.

Has anyone successfully gotten information about the H514 re-purchase from their dealer or JLR corporate? Has this been initiated for anyone?

My dealer is clueless and unwilling to investigate, as per usual.

I've configured both the Turbo (back when there were 2 models) and there 4S with Ruby Red with the club leather. Now looking at Aventurine Green as well. OI assumed I'd have to order and wait. I was planning on the German delivery (I go to Germany at least a few times/year for work and would love to take it onto the Autobahn before having to live with 100km/hr limits...
Several US Porsche dealers have told me that the Turbo will be in short supply relative to the 4 & 4S, so you’ll have to order and wait. The dealer couldn’t forecast an ETA. At a nearby dealer, the waitlist was 8 deep, which I suspect is true at other local dealers. As for the Autobahn, my Turbo cruised past 145 km/hr without trying. Looked down at the speedometer and was shocked at how fast I was going. The Turbo gets up to speed faster than my I-Pace and is rock solid at speed. On the downside, all Macan EVs do not have one-pedal driving and unlike the Jaguar, the creep mode can’t be disengaged.

I called the JLR customer relations line and their team lead said there was no buyback program associated with H514. I'm assuming that the message has not made it down to customer-facing staff because the recall document is very clear about the buybacks. I'd like to get some official indication that the process is moving forward sometime soon because I would want to get a replacement by the end of the year to lock in tax benefits on a new purchase.

Thats about right. They should have known this would set off a large response by affected owners. The customer service reps should have been briefed about it in order to have a response.

I'm leaning towards the 4S. Nothing in stock appeals, so I will likely order what I want and wait. I want to do the winter with the I-Pace if only to get some use from my "new" winter tires that I bought a year ago but not used as the car spent the winter (6 months) at the dealer having various things replaced. They put new summers back on before I got it back last spring (so I have 2 sets of pretty new tires).

I think it is a good bet you will not have any of this settled by year end. Nothing in this saga has moved anywhere near that quick.

I started a case with corporate. They rep who calls like every couple of days with no update said it should be resolved within 30 days. They did not promise anything, just that I would have resolutions/decision in that time. The did gently request I have the update installed.

Regarding other EVs, over the summer I picked up a BMW iX M60. I used to think they were ugly as sin, but the look has grown on me. In every way except driving experience it best the ipace, it's an almost perfect upgrade, plus it's wicked fast, about the same as the Macan Turbo. Lease deals were outrageous cheap, and it should do fine for 36 months.

When did you open the case? Was this under H514? Were you having problems with your battery before then?

Looking at the VIN range in the recall notice, the "class, airbag specification" goes from A to C so:
A = standard all wheel drive
B = SP1 'S'
C = SP1 'SE'

Are no HSE models covered? They have the same batteries, no? Sorry if this was covered somewhere else, just curious.

HSEs are included, typing from personal experience.

They didn't check the box for non-sequential. Only the last 8 characters identify the vehicle with the others identifying features.

This covers all US 2019s not included in H484.

Anyone else just bummed out about this? I think we have decided we want to get into another Ipace as long as Jaguar treats us right and we can find a comparable Ipace with a warranty. I have found a couple I would be happy getting into to. But overall I’m actually sad about this news as we really like the car and now it has had all the normal Ipace fixes done in the last 2 years.

It appears that the responses from Jaguar UK CAS(Consumer affairs specialist) seem to be highly variable. Would there be any value in opening a new forum to share our experiences with CAS? It might help all of us negotiate better with them.

I got a response on September 26th for buyback.

My car has spent more time at the dealership then in my garage. Finally they got tired and offered me 3 options. New battery pack, new I-Pace or refund. Battery replacement was their last option since they were very pessimistic about timelines. They tried to offer me a replacement I-Pace with Jaguar UK paying 50k towards it. I tried looking for a few cars but I did not like any. So I finally opted for refund. They keep dragging their feet.

No timelines about getting a check.
