LG has replaced the 160.000 Bolt EV battery, no ?
They did not replace every Bolt battery. My sister was in line for a replacement and they instead got a software update that monitored the battery for a time (I forget, mut maybe 10k km?) and if nothing came up, full range and charging were restored.

it was still multiple times how many I-Pace batteries need to be replaced though.
 
I think batteries outside the range of H484 will still have cell failures meaning module changes. The batteries where VINs are called up on H484 are likely to have more of them which increases the risk. If VINs outside the range start to have multiple modules changes they may get added.

That would be the most painful scenario. I dread the thought of the next year having to go back for module replacements more than once (more than so far) and only after we have suffered, the offer a replacement battery. That and loosing whatever resale value is left if all I-Paces are cursed with perpetual battery problems.
 
As of yesterday I no longer have my Photon Red I Pace Limited Edition since all is back to the 100% Photon Red First Edition. Module #8 was the culprit. The tech that worked on it knows I will be getting a H484 letter probably this week and that our paths will cross again in the future. He was puzzled like me that my car is listed in the Bat Pack H484 club since the battery pack was manufactured 2 weeks after the cut off date of May 31, 2018. The I Pace is a lot of things, but never boring.

My car just went in to the dealer for a dead water pump, posted that issue earlier today in a fresh thread.

They ran my VIN and are aware my car is caught up in the H484 recall. First they said they would do a software update but when I asked about the content of the recall notice - full HV battery replacement - the messaging changed slightly. It sounds like my car is now in a queue and we are waiting for information on availability of a new battery, which is out of JLR's hands. I'll get the car back and I'll presumably get a call when the time comes. It is wait and see what happens situation with no timelines.

I started to say wait, a water pump? In an EV? Then I realized not all water pumps have to be belt-driven!
 
The cat has two electric water pumps. One for HVAC and one for traction battery since they are separate cooling & heating circuits.

Believe it or not, some like BMW started putting electric water pumps in ICE cars a decade ago. Why you’d want to do that when you already have a perfectly good crankshaft pulley and serpentine belt rotating right there is a mystery to me. 🤷🏽‍♂️
 
Electric pumps for water, oil, and transmission fluid can keep fluids circulating for an ICE during the stop phase of start/stop tech. This keeps everything cooled and lubricated, avoids pressure fluctuations, and improves fuel efficiency.

Modern belt driven alternators also "disengage" whenever possible to reduce power draw from the engine to improve fuel efficiency. They'll re-engage during coasting/braking or when the battery really needs charging.
 
My car is back from service. Per the paperwork they performed "HV updates to HV module," whatever that means.

When I picked up the car they advised I have to wait to hear from Jaguar and/or wait for a call to come in for the battery replacement presumably when they get the part and presumably this call will come from the dealer. They didn't say if I'm now in a queue and I don't believe there is an 'open service ticket' for me like previously when the module went.

I have been advised to keep charging to 75% and wait for news.

October 2023 get Traction battery fault alarm.
November 2023 At Dealer for them to verify I really have a Traction Battery Fault alarm.
March 2024 I went in to get my drivers side axle oil seal replaced. They replaced my CV joint & the leaking seal. They also did an update to my BECS 441 software and then appeared to realize I was not on any kind paperwork to get a new battery cell. They did testing and found that cell 16 was the problem cell and they said they have ordered my car a new cell & sealer.
Appointment for May 2024 Replaced oil seal not leaking(that's good), but new CV boot is throwing yellow grease in the wheelwell under the car. I need a new key again & my passenger seat says the airbag 2 is not on.
Still no word on a new cell.
Did I mention that all requests for service at my local dealer, require a 30 day wait.
 
@Trielectric Something sounds off about the timing of the module. My module was ordered February 23, 2024 and was delivered March 14, 2024 ( 3 weeks). If your car is part of the 258 H484 recall according to my tech all module repairs for those under the H484 recall have now stopped. I just barely slipped in since I am part of the 258. However, a module repair might not work like in my case after 4 days of 100%, I returned back to the 72%.

It is starting to look like many of us have more than one bad cell. Maybe it is worth a poll on anew thread? How many cells replaced?
