[I-Pacer]

Hi guys

My name is Dom, I live in Switzerland and I just ordered a new I-Pace :grin2:

I'm totally new to Jaguar and EVs.
Currently I drive a BMW M135i as a daily and a Porsche Boxster GTS for fun.
The Beamer has to go for the I-Pace, but the Porsche will stay... for now.

I'm looking forward to share my anticipation and excitement with you.

My dealer expects the delivery of the first cars already in July/August.
He gets 11 cars in 2018 and mine is number 4.

Thanks Dom, sounds great! When did you place your order? Are you going with the 20 or 22 wheels (a bit worried about the ride in 22).

I signed the order last Monday and on Saturday I go there again to finalize the color.

Definitely the 22" wheels... I love the look of the carbon inserts :smile2:

But I will have black 20" wheels for the winter tires.

22 rims look very good:smile2: but not to sure about the comfort so went with the 20. Del anticipated in Oct SE in Santorini black. Cant wait.

I've checked out the colors again today...

Fuji White: works very well on the I-Pace but I've driven a white car the last 5 years and I'm a kind of tired of the color.

Indus Silver: gives a nice contrast to the dark carbon parts but it should be combined with dark wheels and because I want the bright 22" wheels it's not my favorite anymore.

Silicon Silver: it's a nice color but I don't see it on an I-Pace because of its brownish tint. Works better on a limousine IMHO.

Firenze Red: if Firenze Red would be darker (like Porsche's Carmin Red) it might be my favorit but on an I-Pace... I don't know

Corris Grey: To be honest... my favorit Color would have been the dark silver of the I-Pace Concept... but in sunlight Corris Grey comes pretty close and accentuates the "high-tech" image of the I-Pace.


Therefore... Corris Grey it is! :smile2:

I always like simple tones on the I-Pace and black is one of them. On the street these should look good enough to be part of a black car service! Only downside of course is how much more work is required to maintain black paint.

Hi Dom, did you get more info as to the recommended home charger? I heard that they did partner with company Etavis, but haven't seen any details yet.

No I haven't, but I think any Type 2 Charger will work.
I will check with my dealer if they recommend any specific wallbox.

BTW... if you want to drive the I-Pace before July you should come to the Formula-E Gran Prix in Zurich on June 10th.
Jaguar will offer their Smartcone Challenge on-site and your dealer can get you a ticket.

Formula-E Gran Prix oppty to drive the i-pace so soon would be great. Too bad I will be in Zurich on June 7-8 but wont be able to stay in Zurich the week-end. Let us know if you manage to attend

The electrician didn't know much... so far he has installed only Tesla wallboxes for Tesla owners who got their wallbox directly from Tesla.
But I checked with our local electricity provider and they recommend the KEBA KeContact P30 (https://www.keba.com/en/emobility/products/product-overview/product_overview)

It is compatible to the Smartfox energy manager which I need to connect it to my solar collector which I'm planning to install.
And the KEBA is cheaper than the COPPER wallbox.

This Keba charger seems to be nice and indeed cheaper than the recommended one. Thxs.

I'm in contact with my dealer for the potential manufacturing/delivery date, no confirmation yet, but know that anything that was ordered after mid April is probably delayed to April 2019, which isn't that bad considering that it will be enhanced to 3 phases.

Now with our 1st 1 phase version, wouldn't the resell (and 2nd hand buyer interests) value be much lower than the 3 phases in lets say 2-4 years?
