New member from Minnesota here - I am trying to manage some nervous energy today...we are picking up a new 2020 Firenza Red I-Pace S tomorrow. Got lucky and found a S (wanted the 18s for the winter set up) with most of the options that we wanted, and we will be making the first long distance trip in it to drive back home. Trying to not tinker, or make plans for it... and I've failed miserably. Waiting to hear back from Discount Tire to see when the new wheels and tires will get here (20" TSW Nurburgring/Pzeros stock size)...and then I found some aluminum pedals that will be going on also...should probably spend the energy cleaning or something, but that nervous energy is also accompanied by an insatiable obsession with everything I-Pace....hopefully that goes away when we get it, lol!

Congratulations!

The trip back should be a blast for you.
I had to drive 250miles when I got my car which made it a nice bonding experience.

Thanks - definitely looking forward to it. Looks like the Pirellis are out of stock nationally in the OE size - Store suggested going with the F-Pace OE size of 255/50/20 but I didn't want that much speedo error so ended up ordering 265/45/20 Conti Sport Contact 5s. I know I'm giving up EV range with the 265 tires, but the I-Pace will be used around town and for shorter trips and I'm looking forward to the enhanced handling from the wider summer tires.

I-Pace is home safe and sound - the first long range trip in an EV sucked! We traded in a Bolt that had never seen more than a 150 mile round trip...planned the route with 3 charging station stops and an eta of around noon. One wrong turn and ended up driving 40 miles the wrong way and ended up having to come back to the same charger to replenish the 80 miles of charge I just used going the wrong way and then coming back to the same charger...which took an hour..twice (so freaking frustrating)..noon eta turned into 3:30PM, and ended up getting home at 2:30AM! Of course I forgot to plug it in when I got home so I plugged in as soon as I woke up.

Drove through a huge thunderstorm last night, and the I-Pace was rock solid, and the storm did us a huge favor by washing away all the bug spatter on the front of the car...the car is so quiet I was continually hearing the sound of insects hitting the windshield, and trying to wiper wash bug guts off the new I-Pace...and how do their guts harden/stick on the windshield so fast?

Including crappy pic of the I-Pace - will post better ones after the wheels and tires are on.

I threw one of the OE 18 inch wheel/tires on the mail scale and got 57 pounds..the specs say the Pirelli's weigh 33 pounds so the 18 inch wheels on the S weigh in around 24 pounds..that is actually lighter than I thought it would be..
..edited to add the summer wheel/tire combo comes in between 53 - 54 pounds..that's almost 4 pounds of unsprung weight per corner despite going bigger/wider...nice surprise (I would have been happy with keeping the same weight).

Looks great. Please let us know how you like the Contis. Since I live in Florida, I've been looking for a good R20 summer tire. The OE Goodyears are ... fine ... but there isn't much else to choose from that meets the hefty weight rating. These Contis fit the bill and are only a few pounds heavier than the Eagles (though I imagine RR is a appreciably worse). The wear rating is pretty good for a summer tire, but some of the reviews suggest that they don't quite live up to the rating.

Grtaz on the purchase and look forward to more pics.

Thanks - yes, it sounds like folks are not getting a lot of mileage out of them, and I'm hoping that the short summers here in MN, and the fact that the I-Pace will be on winter wheel/tires for half the year will help them last at least a couple years. They have been surprisingly comfortable so far, and quiet for a summer tire. Haven't tested the handling yet, but whenever I hear a tire squeal I will have visions of dollar bills flying away, lol!
