From F-Pace to I-Pace

Greetings!

Just found this forum, have my name on the list, and just today got a call from the nearest Jaguar dealership. They said they are starting to work up their allocations, and asked what color I was interested in. RED!

Currently own a 2017 F-PACE S and 2005 XKR convertible. I really love the FP, but am smitten by this all-electric. Plan is to trade the FP. . .

Cheers!

Hey Weeb! I too just found this link. Been considering an IPace for several months. When the service contract is up on my 2017 F Pace at 60k miles, I'm going to look at electric vehicles. I'm pleased with my Jaguar experience so it would be easy to move into another Jag. We'll soon see early performance and reliability stats on the I Pace.

I look forward to following posts on this forum!

@JocDoc, good to go. Are you also a member of the F-PACE forum, and/or the Jaguar forum?

This one seems a bit quiet, as expected with a new model. Should pick up as the release date nears.

I of course have issues with the quality, especially the electronics on the I-PACE, but time will tell.
What are your thoughts on how the F-Pace feels? I ask this because come time to drive the I-Pace I want a sporty feeling vehicle and its one reason why I'm giving Jaguar a look. If they can't do it then i'm going to Porsche.

Much depends on the model. On my S, for example, you can go into sport and dynamic mode, stiffen the suspension, greatly improve throttle response, transmission shift points are put in the power bands, and so on. It feels very much like a sports sedan rather than an SUV, and I traded a Cayenne in on it. That one was somewhat of a lumbering beast. Lower priced versions of the F-PACE do not have the same horsepower or adaptive dynamics, but from what I have read, are still fun to drive.

I trust that Jaguar will be true to its lineage and create an electric that will be super quick, handle like a sports car, and give the thrills the namesake demands.

I mean, um... look at my avatar, it felt rock solid and stuck to the road at that speed. Not that I condone breaking the speed limit, you know, closed course, professional driver and such...

Yes, I'm a member of the F-Pace forum. Helped a lot as I was waiting on delivery of the car. Still learn and contribute on the forum. Looking forward to this forum getting busy! I probably won't be an early adopter of the I-Pace, more likely a second year buyer. Just a little concerned about how it will be priced.
