And finding this forum a week ago has really dialed me in on some fine points. Much thanks to all for sharing their experiences and knowledge on this vehicle.

I lurked for a few days and now decided to join.

I'm loving my I-Pace FE. I had been researching EVs and hybrids for a year but when I learned this one was coming I knew I had to wait and check it out before choosing. It was worth the wait, and I'll keep it for years to come unless something very special is a lot better.

What will probably happen is that they will release a EV500 version or ‘R’ model then we will all have to pitch our rides to stay on the bleeding edge. :)

Welcome to the group! Never mind the naysayers on this forum—you picked an awesome vehicle. Nearly all the gripes are software related and not ‘core’ deficiencies that can’t be fixed via OTA updates. Whenever that happens. See that? I just had to go negative, didn’t I?! :)

Welcome!

We live in exciting times to be an auto enthusiast, especially when it comes to EVs.

The I-Pace is my favorite car so far. Not the fastest, slowest, largest, smallest, ugliest, sexiest, cheapest, most expensive, but it's very fun to drive and fits my lifestyle well. For me, it's about the perfect blend of what I want in a daily driver. It's faster in real world situations than any of my more powerful cars, small enough to park virtually anywhere, large enough to carry 4 real adults and some luggage, sexy without looking like a cop-magnet, a good value for what it offers, with a great suspension and steering feel. And it's fairly unique. It is the only "SUV" (what is an SUV?) that I find stylish. Even the Lambo Urus and Porsche Macan lack the stylish design of the I-Pace, which I consider an all-purpose all-weather executive performance sedan.

I did have quite a bit of learning to do, and customization, but it was worth the struggle. My dealer knew nothing about the car, and my first serious problem came when I went to unplug it the next morning. It locked the cable to the car! ARRGGHH! (Push Unlock from the fob to either disconnect or reconnect for those lurkers reading this thread). But with help from this forum, it has made the transition far simpler.

My first real surprise was taking it to an AutoX. I was driving the heaviest car there, it was my first run in an I-Pace, and it was riding on All-Season tires. Everybody was struggling to beat my lap times, even when I had 3 adults in the car. The car is faster and more nimble than it would appear to be.

@McRat:

Thanks for your welcome, and I share your reactions.

When I also couldn't get the charger unplugged the first time, I opened the frunk and used the release cable in the corner. I had that little bit of knowledge, but not the simple 'unlock' clue. And it isn't just being unlocked that works. I have charged it with the car unlocked, and the plug is still locked unless the 'unlock' key fob button is (seemingly uselessly) pressed, or it is again locked to be unlocked.

I had trouble making the rear kick opening reliable until I saw two videos linked to here. Nothing has proven hard so far with a little guidance, but frustrating when you don't have help when you need some. When I was just working off the manual book, some things were not so clear.

I have yet to customize my own home page, or charge away from home, or adjust the height of the suspension. All in good time, which should be soon. I also finally saw the de-icer elements in my windshield for the first time. I could barely see them, and only when a friend pointed them out at night. As some have said, with my focal point well in front of the car, they remain invisible to me even now that I know what to look for. But he picked up on them from a glare flare or imaging smear of a car's rear lights, as others say annoys them (or worse).

I have the black screen issue twice, but resolved it with my naive go to tactic without any knowledge: a simple power cycling. Now I know the 'wait a few seconds' trick, and it may never happen again.

A small thing I finally noticed that I like: on start, the HUD shows the leaper (briefly). Too briefly for me to see it for my first dozen starts, when I was watching the main screen (where it also appears, of course). It struck me as way cool in the HUD, maybe more than is reasonable, but I guess I'm just a fanboy now!

Welcome! Been enjoying my I-Pace here in South FL since Dec 1, 2018....already have > 6,800 mi. on it now. You may see me around town as there still aren't many I-Paces here in South FL...only seen 2 others in the past 4 months. I was one of the first in South FL to take delivery and finally, after about 5 trips to my Jaguar dealer for software updates, I think everything in the Infotainment system is working fairly well; just hoping my InControl Remote app continues to work as that's crapped out on me 3 times in the past few months (we've deleted and then re-added my I-Pace 3 times now). Anyway, just enjoy it...it's very fun to drive, even more so that my previous Porsche Macan Turbo and that's saying a lot! :grin2:

I'm in a Corris gray model, so look for that one on your part.

I have yet to see any others on the road, but I'm mainly a low mileage driver (@ just 300 miles so far).

My neighborhood is full of Teslas (10+, one X and the rest Ss), so I thought somebody might have one by now. The gate guys said no, nobody else to date. Which suits me fine, and I like having a unique ride for now.

I hope to see you around, but you'll never hear me coming!!! :wink2:
