Sorry stubbsz, yours is the first report I've seen here or on the UK forum.
Just curious - did you notice it upon arrival at your destination when you went to lock the car or did you notice it some time after you reached your destination? I'm asking whether it fell off during the drive or if someone tried to pry open the handle and popped the facade off after you had arrived.

I had a piece of trim mysteriously disappear too. A small triangular window trim piece on the driver's side near the rear view mirror. Dealer had the part in 24 hours and the install took 15 minutes.

I suspect the dealership lost the piece while repairing the broken charge port locking mechanism as the missing piece was right above the port. But they replaced it quickly and easily.

Coincidentally, just today, I smacked the rear edge of the left rear door handle with the back of my hand as I was turning around, and sure enough, the facade 'popped' off and fell to the ground. It wasn't broken, and I snapped it back on easily. FYI, I have no cracks in any of my handles that some have reported. The force was pretty hard (didn't feel so good using back of my hand as a mallet), but I think the 'snap-on' nature of the door handle facades may leave them susceptible to popping off.

I think that is the concern for this trim piece. If the button and fob aren't working and you have to do the little push & tug procedure to get the handle out so you can use the key tucked into the fob, you could pop the trim off. Also anyone messing with the car, whether maliciously or not when the handles are extended could do the same. Hopefully this is one of those odd build problems that affects just a few and can be remedied with a new trim piece.

Yep, happened to me about 4 months ago. Rear passenger door handle popped off and easily snapped back on but the next week it was gone. JLR dealer replaced it but my car had to stay in the shop for a week while they color matched the part.

My car lost the same triangular piece on the near side. I have no doubt the piece had dropped off because it had not been left unattended. I took my car for its first service yesterday and the service assistant told me the plastic fasteners were damaged and my car would need a new spoiler and this would not be covered under warranty I am awaiting a response from Jaguar.

The very first I-Pace I saw at the local dealership had the cover from one door handle missing and my thought was "man, does this look like a cheap assembly behind the plate" and "why did it fall off?". The handles actually feel substantive tho so I repressed that visual and bought one anyway. I suspect that more people will/have encountered this issue which in the scheme of things, seems minor.

True story... I read this post and an hour later my wife knocked the front passenger door handle cover off the car when she was walking by. I guess I need to start locking the car in the garage now so no one catches a door handle.

All parts on the car are supposed to be covered by warranty for 5 years/60K miles since first use in USA. They would have to get it painted to match the car.
The part depends on VIN and side of car.

To VIN K1F60318: Right - T4K1117LML, Left T4K1118LML
From VIN K1F60319: Right - T4K8814LML, Left T4K8815LML

I use the mechanical key at least twice per week and you push on the front of the door handle and pull the back of the handle out with your other hand, sometimes my hand is mostly grabbing the cover piece and pulling. Never had a problem with it coming off.

That’s good for you. I have been having issues w the handles on mine and it was in for repair but they never fixed it all the way and obviously those pieces were not put on properly. My handles do not close flush so if you don’t push on it it sticks out a little even after locked so that’s how it must have flown off.
