Forum Members: I have a First Edition I Pace. Went to start it, battery showed full charge. All the warning signals started coming up (Don't drive, Can driver, not safe to drive, gear box fault, traction fault etc.), the car then died and became a brick.

Called the Tow and he tested the 12v, it was charged. It is currently at the dealer.

Anyone with a similar experience. The software is up to date.

I will post an update once the dealer gets back to me. The sad part is my warranty expired 1 month ago .

Are you sure they said the hardware was out of date? I can understand software being back level especially if the car hadn't gone in for service for a while. There have been several reports of similar software updates being applied to "resolve" dead 12V batteries. However, anytime a 12V battery goes dead it will have its life shortened. Expect another failure.
the problem is the service guy knows nothing about the i pace and the technician does not speak to the owner.

Ipace is still better then the GMC EV Hummer. That is a dud.

Final Result: Got my First Edition back

The 12v batteries were fine. The Epic and BECM software were out of date causing a lot of low voltage error codes, hence the batteries dying. The software was updated, car charged and I was able to drive home.

I told the dealer a solid reason why I bought a Jag was the over the year software update feature (ie Tesla). Why were these updates not pushed to my car? His answer: "We don't do that. We have only 1 I Pace tech and I have never heard of this software".

On the one had this is disappointing and I lost my car for a week, on the other hand they covered the cost of the tow and did not charge me anything despite the warranty expiring 1 month before (prob an admission they messed up).

Further update: My car died again for the same reasons. Had it towed.

FYI to all members, if you need to tow your Ipace. There is a neutral switch in the hood you can enable to protect your car.
