Do take the time to read it, it will elevate our conversation about battery life, charging, and performance.

For example: if you live in Arizona where temperatures are commonly above 150F (ok I'm exaggerating) you probably don't want to park your EV fully charged in the sun for prolonged periods of time.

And: keeping it at 50% charge is probably best for longevity.

Etc. Give it a read.

Has there not also been mention of movement towards liquid state batteries? I've heard that would come with a huge cut to charge times, delivering numbers much closer to that of a regular petrol fuel up.

Yep, this stuff is ever evolving, both liquid state batteries and solid state batteries are being tested in EVs. However the cost of these would again increase and EVs are not exactly that cheap already today. Of course the major advantage would be charging time.
