I’ve had this issue but my vin is way before the start range they have listed. To mitigate the issue I will usually lock my car in my garage if it snowed while I was out. This helps in that if any snow melts it doesn’t get to the handles sticking out. If we have a warmer day for an opportunity to wash the car always wash with the car locked. I’ve been doing this year round anyway as I found the trunk foot sensors would activate while washing the rear anyway.
If ice does manage to form in the handle it is usually on top. Easy to melt it with your thumb and wipe away access moister. When it’s just a little moister that froze it usually only takes a few lock and unlock cycles to shave the ice away. You do have to manually push the handles after the car thinks it has closed them.
