Thanks for this! I have an extra data only SIM card with Google Fi.
Thanks for this! I have an extra data only SIM card with Google Fi.Just curious is the AT&T 3 months 3GB data plan limited in speed? I've never seen anything other than 3G on the display?
I tried my T-Mobile SIM card and can confirm it's not locked to AT&T. It took awhile to get a signal, then when it did it displayed 3G and then shortly after 4G.
Good to know because I get T-Mobile data for only $10 a month which is half price of AT&T.
Yes you can stream music. Have you checked out the Live apps? There's a variety of podcasts from Tune In that you can stream. There's also Deezer. But I haven't been able to make that work. Also just curious I don’t see a purpose of a data plan. A Tesla can stream music but with the I-pace you can’t. So yes you can browse the internet but aside from that what else would you use a data connection for?
Verizon would probably work for 4G, but going into areas w/o 4G wouldn't allow it to fail back to 3G because the modem in the car only supports LTE+GSM, no CDMA which is required for Verizon 3GI can't get Deezer to work either.
Surprised to learn T-Mobile SIM works. I called Verizon to get a Verizon sim and after giving them my imei they said their sim wouldn't work in my car. Hmm
What does that get you over just using the phone with bluetooth? For me, the easiest and cheapest data workaround is to set up my phone as hotspot and connect I-Pace to it. Stream music, live traffic, etc.
I am assuming bluetooth can only be used for streaming music and phone calls, live traffic would require the Jaguar navigation to have internet connectivity. Unless you use Waze/Google Maps which will require you to connect thru Android Auto/Apple CarPlay via a USB cable. What does that get you over just using the phone with bluetooth?
Ya sure? I get 4G on mine. Maybe it's your location.Hi Brian,
So your I-Pace does show 4G (LTE?) connectivity?
I have been in contact with AT&T and they claim the I-Pace is not capable of more than 3G.
I was going to take the AT&T unlimited ConnectedCar data plan (since my employer is paying my AT&T bills and my daughter loves to stream Netflix on her iPad in the back) but then it should be at 4G speed. However, they claim it is not possible because Jaguar uses an older type of modem which may be true for the ICE cars but I would expect this EV to have more modern hardware)
I’m getting 4G as well. I really only want it for connected traffic. I’m trying to see about the $10 plan to share with an existing AT&T account, but I need to call in as I was not able to do it online.Hi Bruintoo, no I am not sure that's why I was asking. Good to hear you do get 4G and AT&T is just trying to dodge this problem. Are you using the original AT&T SIM or have you switched to another provider?
My iPhone is on the AT&T network and has full 4G-LTE signal so it's not my location that is causing limited (3G only) connectivity.
I am using the Jaguar-provided AT&T SIM. It says "4G" but not "LTE."Hi Bruintoo, no I am not sure that's why I was asking. Good to hear you do get 4G and AT&T is just trying to dodge this problem. Are you using the original AT&T SIM or have you switched to another provider?

When using the supplied AT&T SIM card my display always showed 3G. I swapped that out with my T-Mobile SIM card from my iPad and it's always shown 4G. I've never seen "LTE" so it could be 4G=LTE.Hi Brian,

No experience with Sprint but welcome to the forum! Always glad to have a new owner aboard.anyone have any experience with using sprint data
Sprint does not support a data SIM for the car. They want to sell you their own plug-into-port device + plan for it instead. Duplicates the car's built-in functions + InControl Pro services for location and theft.anyone have any experience with using sprint data
