I played around with the California website. I think we'll just get a standard plate. I have Eagle 5 on my other car, because Spaceballs.

We had NOHANDS on our Tesla, but that hasn't aged that well. Planning to switch things up on the I-Pace.

Will be happy to share my ideas AFTER I get mine "locked up" in AZ in a few weeks! :D
Remember that you might switch cars if that's important, and having somebody following with poor eyesight trying to solve a puzzle at 70mph when traffic backs up can have a less than optimal outcome.
However, I love clever plates in spite of it.

But I wimped out. Our Bonneville Land Speed Record truck had a MCRAT plate (it was a street legal 200+ mph, 4x4 diesel 2500HD). McRat Racing was our race team. But I have that in my trophy case with the record run trophies and magazine articles.

So for the i-Pace: If you see a Photon Red, and the plate reads I MCRAT, wave or honk. That will be me when the plates arrive.
Sidebar - "How did you get the name McRat?"
When I was young and started racing, I had little money. I started working full time at 16 years old to help support our family. I saved up enough extra to buy a 'basket case' H1 Kawasaki that was held together with hose clamps, duct tape, and prayer. So the other drag racers took my name, Pat McSwain, and called me McRat to insult me when I started kicking their arses. So I've worn an insult as a badge of honor for 42 years.

Fake version - When McDonald's opened restaurants in Vietnam after the war I bought the exclusive franchise rights. I customized the menu for the indigenous population. But the McRat Sandwich never caught on - "Two all swamp rats, scary sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions, on a sesame seed bun." I used to be a billionaire. The only thing I have left is the McRat™ logo to show for it.

If I switch cars, it may not get a CLOUD PLATE (AZ's right to ride in HOV lanes) anyway.
One of the most cringeworthy aspects of the Tesla cult is their obsession with lame vanity plates--don't be that guy/gal.
Police Academy?

Or was it Stripes?
Any of you guys touch my I-Pace, and I'll kill you.

posted this in "Any good news out there" but this is the better thread for vanity plates... any takers on this idea outside of FL?

Now that it's actually arrived (before the car!) I can still hardly believe it was available.

Not fair. I had a car ... the first in AZ. And, it died.

So, I'm waiting for my NEW, new one to arrive. Yesterday, I got my plate - in AZ, you have to get a generic plate and THEN you can order a vanity plate ... but I don't own that car anymore, so I had to turn it back in. So, I can't place my order for a vanity, yet - but I know what I want and I see it's available.

So far, I've received floor mats, a TeslaTap, Faraday Key Bags, and insurance cards/license plates/registration for a car I don't have anymore - but I got no **** car!! All I can do is sit on the mat in my garage and pout.

So, no fair being able to order a vanity plate out of the gate - AND BEFORE YOU EVEN GET THE CAR!! :p

Well, here’s a workaround... I ordered it for a different car and will just have to transfer it when my new I-pace arrives. When I saw this available I knew I couldn’t wait for the car to arrive or it would be gone.
Ah. Well, I have one more wrinkle in AZ - HOV Plates for EV's. So, I need to get the HOV entitling "cloud plate" in my hot little hands for the EV so that I have one. (Especially when the price is $46 vs. something like $800 for a normal car this expensive!!) Then, I can order a vanity version.

Got a friend with an EV? Have them apply (ostensibly for their car)... by the time the plate arrives they can just 'transfer' to you. Check with your DMV but where there's a will there's a way...

I could not believe either. Just arrived in the mail in February!:smile2:

I ordered this in CA retro plate: ELCTRKT = electric kitty
Nice, Meldev##44, white on white, too! Was the dash part of the special order? I've actually never seen that on any personalized plate before.
I wonder how many states (other than FL) still allow no front plate? I think it takes 5-8 miles off an EV's range? :crying:
