I get a strong signal in the driveway, in part I'm sure because the router is in the office just inside the garage.

If you have a guest wifi, that will likely be the safest one to use when you do connect.
Most routers have the main internal wifi that connects all your devices. Some folks segment their IOT types of devices from their main computing so that vulnerabilities are reduced. Most have the option to set up a guest wifi connection that you can give out to friends who visit. If you have the guest network set up, then connect to that SSID. Until we know more about Jaguar infotainment security, I prefer to keep mine off the main home network.

Follow the instructions that were posted by Drscott and Sciencegeek.
- If your SSID is hidden, you have to manually enter it.
- You should take your cell phone to the point where you will normally park your car to see if you have a good wifi signal.

Other than those two, the instructions and the actual steps are pretty easy to follow.

Another recommendation, turn off mobile hotspot if that is on, I found it conflicted with allowing my home WiFi to stay connected. I turned it off, then turned off the mobile SIM, then connected my WiFi, and after re-enabled the mobile SIM. Now when I arrive back in range of the home WiFi, I see it will drop the mobile SIM connection and connect to WiFi.
